Kick-ball.
« on: April 13, 2010, 06:22:31 PM »
I remember playing it in Elementary school alot, especially during P.E. or After-School Care.
& recently I've played it as well at the park.

Anyone else remember playing it? Fond memories? Bad memories?
Have you played it recently?
Are you more of a out fielder or in fielder?

see... being a Brit, that just makes me think of Recess (the cartoon). It's the only place i've seen kick-ball played :P
"Parents always think kids are wasting their youth, and always have done [so] down through the millennia," says Tom Forsyth of RAD Game Tools. "'That Ug, always holding things. His front paws will develop in funny ways. Why can't he walk on all fours like normal proto-hominids?' And so, whatever the kids spend the most time doing, that's always what parents think is a waste of time, and what is corrupting their lives. It doesn't matter what that is. If all they did was homework, parents would be worrying that their kids aren't becoming well-rounded people. And, in fact, parents do this - enrolling math nerds in karate classes and the like. There is no way to win - parental paranoia ensures that kids are always doing the wrong thing."

My school only had... 30 minutes of "Recess" total. It was pretty lame and most of that time permitted was only if you were allowed to leave the lunch room. So pretty much about 15 minutes of whatever you could come up with doing. I liked playing kickball often c:

Most of my Kick-Ball playing days and hours were when I went to After Care after school. xD

We mostly play football (soccer), rounders (baseball with a one handed small wooden bat), "Quick Cricket" (normal cricket is too slow), hockey (on grass with balls). The richer schools had rugby (violent american football)... but yeah, no kick-ball.

I used to make up games for my friends to play sometimes though.
