[Vee Katame: His Wolfy]

Veronica had been smart enough to bring something for lunch with her since she had figured she would have had to escape outside again. She ate her lunch in silence then decided she would walk around the halls while she waited for lunch to be over. She ended up finding Shinzuu and Reno in one hallway and heard Shinzuu's question. She actually found it weird too that Reno wasn't with Schad. Slowly she walked over to the other two while Shinzuu was waiting for Reno's response.

Reno looked up at Shinzuu in despair as he asked, he was having trouble saying it. Then Veronica walked over. "Schad's...In the 'ospital..." he finally choked out. "I think it's all my fault..." His ears were still drooping behind his head and he looked back down at the floor. "I-...She...Stayed at my-...The hotel I stay at and...I don't know...I went to bed...And then this morning...She 'ad a seizure..." With that he rubbed his nose with his sleeve, he wasn't crying and he didn't have a runny nose or anything. He just did it.

Shinzuu patted Reno and sighed, "It's okay, kiddo. It's not your fault. She's been having health issues since before we even met her. THAT much was certain that night we were at the restaurant. I remember she had been shaking violently when Veronica and I were leaving. How about this? We'll go visit her after school, but you're going to have to stop beating yourself up, okay? We'll even go find Veronica to come with us if you want."

Veronica nodded in agreement to Shinzuu's proposal of going to the hospital. When Shinzuu talked like she wasn't even there, she felt very disappointed that he hadn't noticed her. "Um...I'm right here..." She said softly, looking down at the floor. "I'll go..." She examined her fingers for something to do since she felt kind of awkward for not being noticed by Shinzuu when she was standing right there, though she had walked over quietly.

Reno looked up when Shinzuu patted him on the shoulder. As he spoke a slight smile came on his face. Like a small child who just had to tell the neighbor he just broke their with a baseball he replied. "A-Alright..." He looked over to Veronica who had agreed to go as well. He was glad that he met such nice people, he was starting to even think it beat sitting alone all the time. "Thanks guys...Uhm...I...Guess see you after school then." Reno sounded happier as he walked off waving over his shoulder.

Shinzuu was surprised at Veronica's voice just popping up next to him. His first instinct was to shrink back about 10 feet before he remembered that she doesn't give him hives when she's near. Shinzuu never really was good at noticing his surroundings outside of basketball. Every time he did anything, he'd be completely oblivious to everything else around him, save for his hives when girls get dangerously close to him. The rest of the day went on forever, and he didn't like it one bit. However, Shinzuu's day brightened at the end after both his coaches excused him for the day to visit Schad in the hospital with the others. He waited at the gate for the others, amusingly watching all the punished girls from his fan club finally carry their pails of water to dump in the garden before going in to get all the schoolwork they missed throughout the day.

Veronica didn't have to go to cheering practice because at least 3/4 of the cheerleaders were part of the punished group of girls and they weren't allowed to attend their activities for the day so practice had been canceled. She grabbed her bag out of her locker and headed outside. When she exited the building, she ended up passing the punished girls as they headed in. She just kept her head up as she passed them and headed for the gate. She saw Shinzuu standing at the gate waiting and nervousness crept up on her as she approached him. "Hi..." She said shyly.

As the school day drew to an end Reno decided not to go to chess club that day. Instead he went to swim practice and got the coach to let him slide for the day. As he was leaving he saw Veronica and Shinzuu already waiting. He approached them nervously. "Uhm...'ey guys." After that he just stood there nervously, not really sure if he should remind them what they were doing or something. Also he didn't really know where the hospital was.

Shinzuu shuffled nervously as Veronica approached him, but he did his best to keep his cool. He grinned wide as he saw Reno. Reno had ended up being kind of like the pet he always wanted. "Come on, you guys, let's go. I'm sure Schad'll appreciate it, even if she never says it." Shinzuu led the group on a long, 40-minute walk to the far side of town to the only hospital in town.

Veronica felt slightly hurt that she got no greeting from Shinzuu. She gave a slight wave as a response to Reno showing up and greeting them. When Shinzuu said to go, she followed him. She was silent for the walk to the hospital. All she did was look around as they walked. She was never one who was good at conversation so she didn't bother trying to get one going with Shinzuu and Reno.

Reno was quiet for the walk, he was too lost in thought to do much else that wasn't involuntary. He was happy that he made these new friends. They weren't using him, picking on him, taking his money, hurting him just under the legal limit or calling him by his ridiculous nickname. Shinzuu reminded him a lot of his best friend Nero. Reno met Nero in fourth grade, they were assigned to be partners for a science project; the rest was history. Unfortunately he moved back home a month before his parents died. It's a surprise to Reno himself he didn't slip into a massive fit of depression and kill himself. As they got to the hospital Reno looked at it nervously. He wasn't really sure what to do or what to say when he saw Schadenfreude.

As they walked in, the hospital was barely a buzz as they walked up to the reception desk. "Hi. We're here to see a friend who got admitted this morning. Her name is Schadenfreude, she's a possum and she's a student at Feral High." The fat canary lady behind the desk just looked at Shinzuu like he wasn't worth her time, but she then decided to hunch over and look at the logs from the morning. "You'll find your friend in room 2150. Second floor, right wing." Shinzuu thanked her and went straight for the elevator past reception. As they went into the elevator, Shinzuu couldn't hold it in, anymore. "Is it just me, or is that receptionist a total (censored)?"

Veronica was easily irritated by the lack of personality in the reception lady. When Shinzuu asked his question about the receptionist, she wasn't surprised by it. "It's not just you..." She responded as she pushed the elevator button for 'up'. "People like that shouldn't be working with the public." She hated it when people acted the way the receptionist did.

Reno answered with "Maybe she 'ad a bad day?" at Shinzuu's question as they got on the elevator. He also thought Veronica seemed a bit angry for some reason. As they got closer to where they were going Reno grew more and more nervous. Nervous but anxious. He still had no idea what to say, if he could even say anything. Maybe she was asleep, or in a coma, or dead. A worried face plastered itself to Reno's face as he thought of all the terrible things that might have happened to Schadenfreude.

They got out of the elevator and walked out towards Schad's room. Shinzuu began counting the rooms as they walked down the hall. He was the first to the door and opened it, walking in. Inside, Schad laid there snoring away on her hospital bed, hooked up to an IV. Shinzuu snickered to himself a little at it, but did his best to keep a straight face. "Why don't you guys wait here? I'm going to go find a nurse and see what's up with her.
