[Goblin Cat 😸]

Schad again, didn't sleep too well. She tossed and turned, thinking about various thing until she eventually tired up. When the alarm blared, she jumped, about falling out of bed, realizing that she hadn't quite bothered to change into PJ's. She grabbed a clean boy's uniform and showered, changing into it and gathering her things before walking out the door. As usual, she flung the door open, smacking a few guys with it. She didn't really care that she had done so either, but she couldn't help but wonder why they were there. They were obviously students from school. "Is there a reason why you're taking up space here?" she shot, her hand taking its place on her hip. If there was one thing that helped distinguish that she was female, it was her body language. "Seriously, can't stand somewhere else with your mouth open and that dead cow look?" The possum was not a morning person, nor was she happy since she hadn't gotten much sleep, and it seemed these people were at the right place at the right time to hear an ear full.

Reno woke up when he heard voices call for him outside his door. He stammered over to open it. He hadn't showered or changed his clothes the previous night, so he was still a mess. The white fur under his nose was stained with blood, the side of his face was still swollen and his clothes were all wrinkled. He didn't even want to go to school, and still probably wasn't going to. "...What? Hrmm..." he groaned. He was clearly tired with the bags under his eyes. He wasn't even in his uniform. He yawned and held up his hand and said "Just a second" which was barely audible since he was yawning. He went and grabbed his duffel bag, not bothering to check if his things were in it. He was fairly certain they were but was too tired to care. He went back to the door, went out then closed and locked it behind him. "So what's so important...?" As he said that he noticed Schadenfreude. He looked at her for a moment, she seemed a little angry. Reno quickly looked away hoping she didn't notice him in his current state.

Sam walked out of his house the next morning. He'd been up all morning organizing and discussing with his fellow goons. He was tired. He stopped at the sidewalk to wipe his face in his hands. At the same time, he felt alive and better than he had in a long time. He wore his uniform for the first time in a while that day. He figured it went well with his hair and that today was the first day he'd be heading off to class in a nearly a week...but not before taking care of business first.

He carried his bag as he walked along the road. He was to meet with his friends on the way to school, hopefully as he'd planned.

The thugs sighed as some of them really didn't care to be there, "Heard you been picking on young-bloods that Sam likes, so we're here to teach you a lesson. And I'm sure the kid you picked on wanted a piece of you, too. Our job right now is to just hold you here until the party comes, but we're allowed ta' rough you up if we need ta'." Shinzuu snorted and sighed, eying some of the thugs who were wearing his school's uniform, "You guys in the suits should know me. I'm not that kind of guy..." "Yea, but weez also know dat youz been kicked off da teams, too, and joined dat stupid MMA club. Howda we know you hasn't been changed by being kicked, Mr. I-Think-I'm-Perfect?"


Meanwhile, on the other side of town, Schad was about to experience a life-changing experience as well, which would inadvertently affect Veronica, too. As Schad walked down the sidewalk, a car not too far behind her immediately lost control and began to swerve right at her.

As Veronica walked along toward school, she hummed to herself. In the back of her mind though, she was wondering about what was going to happen at school. She knew that it was highly likely that the news of her not eating had gotten around and that everyone was going to think she had an eating disorder. She figured she was going to get some looks but she was going to try to make it through the whole day.

Before the guys could answer, she stormed off. Seems the bad mood had carried over into the next day. She figured Reno could to walk to school with his other friends, so she walked alone with her hands in her pockets. She jammed her ear buds in and turned her iPod up blaring her music, looking for something calming on her playlists. She had gotten a good way down the sidewalk when she heard something loud over her music, by the time she had turned there was a car careening out of control at her, the best she could do was try to jump out of the way, but she wasn't sure if she would make it because it was so close...

Reno was confused as where it was he was being taken to. It was unusual for this sort of thing to happen, it made him really nervous. Surrounded by strangers, who looked to be thugs. The thought of Schadenfreude's biker boyfriend who she claimed didn't exist came to mind. He started piecing clues together, strange people knocking on his door, angry looking Schadenfreude and him being taken somewhere. He began to worry more, thinking maybe she had planned it all from the beginning, and that she really didn't like him. Shinzuu's sudden behavior reinforced that thought, maybe all his so called friends were plotting against him.

Sam turned the corner where he saw his crowd of goons surrounding a familiar face. Shinzuu was right on time; now the only one missing was Reno. Sam approached the crowd with a welcoming smile. He flicked away his cigarette and walked over to one of his friends and whispered into his ear. "Where the hell are the others?" He asked. He only response was a light shrug. Sam winced in frustration and walked over to Shinzuu who was now the center of attention. "Hey, friend. How are you today? I hope you don't mind that we hold you up for a little while, I know how important your day must be with all your academics. We're just waiting on a few others..." He lit up another cigarette. "Shouldn't be long now."

Shinzuu scoffed at Sam, "I see you still hide behind numbers, Sam." He was not the least bit happy that he was going to be late for the first time since day 1 of the school year.


As Schad jumped out of the way, the car hit her legs while she was in mid-air, breaking her right leg in the process, while spinning her around and landing on her face. The car then abruptly went straight through the corner of the home and fell down a drop just past the house and its fence right towards the park, Shinzuu and the crowd just below its drop zone.

Schad tumbled to the side. She heard something snap, she was sure of that. She laid on the ground for a bit, not saying anything, just trying to take in what just happened until the pain began shooting upward from her legs up to her spine. Pain seemed to be coming in from all directions. Tears welled up in her eyes as a string of expletives escaped her mouth. She forced herself to roll over and sit up, noticing the awkward position of her leg. "Goddamn it, it's broken for sure." She managed to get out, but even that hurt. She flopped backwards, waiting for the adrenalin to kick in as she held her face to hide the tears. It was more scary than anything.

Sam heard the loud crash and looked up. His eyes bulged. A car, seemingly from out of nowhere, was about to kill him and his crew. He could see the faces of his crew, they seemed as shocked as he was. It was all happening in slow motion for Sam. He quickly dove out of the way, away from his boys who were also in the midst of scattering.

At the same moment, Reno and the rest of Sam's gang had arrived from around the corner, only to witness the horror that was about to unfold.

Shinzuu ran off to the side as the car landed onto the floor, only slightly dipped. The head of the car bent upward, but it skid forward, dragging dirt and parts of pavement alongside it. Shinzuu had dived out of the way, just barely, as did a lot of the other guys. He brushed himself off as he got up and turned towards the car as the dust settled. "Hey! Are you okay in there?" Shinzuu coughed up a lung, almost, as he neared the car. When the dust did settle, he was able to see who was inside, and it brought a shock to his face. Oh god... it's Veronica's parents... As if on reflex, Shinzuu yelled at everyone for a cell phone. No one responded at first, but a couple people managed to fumble their phones from their pockets and threw them at Shinzuu. He caught one while the others hit him, some in the face, and quickly dialed the emergency number, barely able to get the words out to tell what happened. Shinzuu closed the phone and dropped it. Meanwhile, the thugs left the scene quickly when they came to their senses, not wanting to be associated with such a horrific sight, or be accused of causing it. It wasn't long before the ambulance and police showed up, and Shinzuu went with the ambulance, surprised to see Schad inside as well, but she appeared a bit out of it, probably hopped up on morphine. He couldn't get himself to say anything as the paramedics pried open the car wreck and quickly transported Veronica's mother into this ambulance, and her father into the other.

Veronica arrived at school on time and went to her locker. She put some of her things in her locker and took the things she needed for the first half of her classes out. After she had her things, she shut the locker door and went to her classroom. Setting her stuff on the desk, she sat in her usual seat and waited for the school day to begin. She had no idea about what had happened.

Schad layed there in a daze, hearing the car skid to a hault, panic fill the air, and eventually an ambulance wailing in the distance. "Damn my luck if this isn't the second time," she whispered to herself, still holding her head. She felt herself being picked up by a few men, she was in too much pain to struggle against them. She knew where she was going, and didn't want to go, but she was going to have to. She knew it when she looked at her leg. As they loaded her up, they asked her several questions, none of which she could coherently answer. She grabbed her chest, not only was she in a daze, but her anxiety levels were shooting through the roof and it made her feel like the world was spinning and as if someone was stabbing her in her chest.

When Reno arrived the car flew from the sky and crashed almost hitting the group below. He was shocked about the whole thing. His thuggish escort scattered at the sound of sirens, he saw Shinzuu then. He was more curious as to why he was there. When Shinzuu hopped into the ambulance he was about to go after him to question him about the whole thing. That's when he saw Schadenfreude in there as well. But a police officer stopped him short to question him. Reno didn't care to answer him, or any of them, he wanted to get to Schadenfreude. But the ambulance wheeled off before he could. All the while he called to her. He shoved an officer out of the way and chased after the ambulance. But he was taken to the ground quickly by another officer. He tried to explain his self as they arrested him, one of the female officers sympathized and released him. But she did it in the form of putting him in the back of her squad car and explaining it to him. After wards she drove him to the hospital. She went in with him and helped him talked to the people behind the desk since he was too worried and shaken up to form a sentence at this point. But it was too soon to get much information.
