genetic therapy. (splicing)
« on: June 10, 2010, 05:03:08 AM »
i was forum browsing the other day and came across o topic on another furry forum called "genetic therapy". intrigued by the title, i decided to look at the post. the post was about using genetic therapy (or splicing, for all you Bioshock fans) to turn/morph/change into your fursona, or another anthromorphic creature.

and i was wondering, if the technoledgy existed, would you do it, splice up to become your fursona or some version of it?
i am a warrior, i have fought on many battle fields and fronts, i have won battles and lost battles... against my mom.

I would rather splice myself with something more useful than fur and a tail. Something like hyper-advanced cell replication (healing) or enhance the amount of electricity i can generate (like in bioshock).
By Jove!

I personally would not do it, I would prefer a way to go between human and animal forms when desired.

I would definitely get ears and a tail, but I don't know if I would go any further than that.

I would only do so if say 100 other people were doing it;
So many people jump straight into the idea without thinking of the consequences of being out casted by the rest/99% of humanity.
But if a large group of people decided to do it then you'd have friends in the world and someone/where to turn to.

I'd probably do it, but I'm a transhumanist so I already was making plans on how to do this with technology.....
But like Dessum said, I wouldn't want to be alone amongst a world of humans, but maybe some people would accept me anyway, I think there are nice people out there somewhere...... But I'm usually okay being alone anyway...

I highly doubt you'll be casted away, i think it will just draw ATON of uneeded attention.

Me too. I would definitely want to be my fursona. I guess you would get a lot of (unwanted) attention from the rest of the world, but aside from that, sign me up!
To bad its just a fantasy...... ^_^

I would but knowing me I'd want to be a different fursona half a week later so meh :P
But other than that, definitely. I can deal with unwanted attention, just as long as it doesn't grab the attention of too many unwanted people  :/
