It's completely your choice if you want to or not.  But do you HAVE to...  I'm going to say no because it's nothing bad, and there's nothing to really announce.

Granted there is an explicit side to the fandom, but that's very select in my opinion.  But I can poke a few holes in that...  Counting how many Treky's there are out there I seriously doubt they don't get fresh with each other when no ones looking.

Anyway... my point is, it's not really a big deal, and it's nothing really worth making an announcement about.  UNLESS, you want to, or you're afraid your parents might find out and do an internet search.  If you want to, and you need help, we're here to help.  :3

im 21 and just told mine bout 2 weeks ago. been one for a long time, but didnt feel nessecary to tell them till recently. I started by reminding them of the disney robin hood movie, then just came out and and said it. I gotta say, ive felt really good since then. :D

i'd tell my mum, but she wouldnt get it.
then id have to tell her everythiiing.
and then she'd google it probablyyy.. and find all the wrong stuffff...

i cant trust her with google anymore, even after all those times i told her NOT to google [removed], she still did *facepaw*

I say if you want to tell then let them find your furry art book. That's what I do, they ask why there are so many freaky animal drawings and I just say it's because I'm a furry and we draw anthros.

I draw anthros all the time, and not my dad nor even kids at school have any idea that I'm a furry. I don't think it'd be a big deal at all if they see furries in your artbook.
They're cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse, and your parents will probably see them simply as that.  ;)
