The lioness pushed away from Leia, eyes-wide, moving back against Leo. She looked over to him.
"Yeah, we need to get there fast." The car came to a halt outside a tall and clean building with vast plates of flexible film used as windows. An automaticdoor stood at the end of a stairway as an entrance. The lioness got out of the car and ushered Leia along with her, taking her hand and guiding her into the building towards the receptionist.
"Hello there, what's your business?" said a young pheasant.
"We need to see Kateri Peralta," said the lioness, who then looked at her watch. "For E7 reasons." The receptionist looked at her screen, then nodded them towards a lift. The went inside and it carried them up high into the building, stopping on the seventeenth floor. It opened with a ping, into an office where Kateri's secretary typed. Ahead of them was another door. The secretary looked up.
"State your business."
"We need to see Miss Peralta, it's about the ambassadors, and that hyena under surveillance." The secretary bit her nail, then tapped on her screen, and then pointed at Leia and Leo, gesturing for them to enter. The door opened, and behind a desk was Kateri. The lioness pushed Leia and Leo into the room.
Tabby ran her tongue along her teeth, and pulled the jacket off of her, throwing it to the side of her tiny box room, before climbing into her bunk.
"He goes away one night," she thought to herself, "and comes back with telekinetic powers." She tapped her sunglasses. "No electrical pulse, but an enhanced electromagnetic field." She ran her paw through her hair, and scratched behind her ear. "So he went to see his extra-dimensional mother who gives him an upgrade."
"Well that's not good," said a voice in her head. She grinned.
"Nope, it's a conflict of interest if ever I saw one." She rested her hands behind her head, and closed her eyes.
"Do you think our tech would work on him?"
"Probably, but let's not try just yet." She reached for a sheet, and pulled it over herself, kicking her shoes off the side of the bed. "I need my beauty sleep."
"Yeah, whatever," the voice replied, and she could feel him laugh.
Reggie clambered in after her, and stumbled on cold metal objects, before dropping himself onto her bed.
"Well you've seen my room, it's not that much better." He looked around, spotting the photo, making sure not to stare. "It's not a bad little place." He looked at her back and reached out to touch her, snaking his hand around her and pulling her onto his lap. He brought his arms round her, and toyed with her clothes, while nuzzling into her neck.
David tilted his head, and thought for a second.
"300, with ammunition, it should be in a box under his bed." He looked at the rest of the junk, splayed around. "If you can shift this stuff for me, I'll give you a hundred cred discount... Now come on, the other room's this way." He headed down the corridor towards the end, where Reggie's room sat open, and filled with its own selection of rubbish. "Have at it."
