Everflame 2 (FINISHED)

Chronin finished cutting the vines, and put his rifle away before kicking the metal door several times to make sure he was heard. He made sure to keep his talons from cutting the frame, and he waited for a reply. Such a reply came as the door slid open and mist spilled out from within, never ending until there stood a rather scrawny bear, who pulled his own gun out at Chronin.

"Can we just skip the gun-pointing and get the tech we were promised??" Chronin's voice had a great tone of annoyance as he was trying to restrain himself, but he was running into situations that seemed to make such a task very hard to accomplish. The bear stood there with a stone face before suddenly cracking up in hill-billy laughter and lowering the gun.

"Hooo boy, must really be sumthin' to ask that with a gun in your face. Just sign here and I'll get the package for you..." The bear pulled out a rather dingy pad that flickered every other second, and had a big 'X' at the bottom left corner. Chronin started to write his name on the pad then the bear cussed up a storm and threw the pad into a wall, where it shattered on impact.

"You freaking idjit', you ain't sapposed' to write ya' real name. Just put a scribble or something so I can get rid of the box and get back to my drinking!!" He pulled out another pad from apparently the same location, and only slightly less dingy than the last one.

"If you say so..." Chronin muttered as he just wrote a wavy line, then had the pad yanked away before a cylidrical container rolled from the darkness and at his feet. He picked it up, then the bear suddenly grabbed his hands with panic in his eyes when he saw Chronin moving to open it.

"Hey, this thing gonna' blow us all to kingdom come if you tryin' ta' open it. Your boss shoulda' told you that shes the only one who ma' lady told the code. So keep your scaly claws ways' fum' da' lid if you still want to live a few years, or at least 'til you're far away from me!" The redneck bear warned before quickly shutting the door and leaving Chronin rather dumbfounded.

Someone behind a steel bunker afraid of an exploding container. Guess I shouldn't open it at all... he mused before walking his way back to the ship, and Tabby right behind him.

The guard gave out a laugh, as the room started to decellerate, then came to a stop. The door hissed, then slid open.
"Shady? no, not at all, it's perfectly above board. We don't kill you for that sort of thing. Also, due to the possibility of me and my colleague here getting infected," he said, gesturing to the other guard. "We are also going into quarantine as well, for a little while. Sound like a raw deal? It's better than the alternative for us. Now mush." The two prisoners were prodded in the back, and all four marched through into a pure white room. The door closed behind them all, and hissed again as the transport headed off, leaving them stranded in a room with no windows and rounded walls. A screen flickered on. On it was a cute pink vector drawing of a cat with a surgical mask.
"Welcome to... Quarantine," said an automated voice. "You will be here for... unknown months... unkown days... and unknown hours." It was calm and serene, yet jarring in its broken stammer. "Escape is not advised. Simply remain calm, enjoy the entertainment provided, and be safe. You will be released soon."





Tabby made quick light steps behind Chronin, and peered past his big arms at the container.
"Is that it? Just pick up and go? You sure we got the right place?" She looked back at the cut trees and dirt covered bunker. "That place looked pretty nasty and unprofessional... Oh well, next stop, the high profile guys we have to find. What does the PDA say about them?"

Annie shook her head, relaxing again underneath him "No.... No need, I'm fine..." She nuzzled his neck in return, pressing close "It's fine... I'm fine... Everything is fine Reg..." She smiled, letting her head drop back against her slightly bloodstained pillow...






Tess smirked, winking to David as she kicked the Trolley to get it moving "I know you aint going no-where... Well you could try, but i doubt this ship would make another jump.... And i'm a girl to my word... I said you'l get that enginer part, You will get it sir..." She gave a mock-salute, turning to follow the trolley as it rattled down the ship ramp-way...

Leo's eyes narrowed at the sight of the drawing trying to identify what it was without his glasses "...Could someone tell me what I'm looking at here?" he siged sitting down leaning against the wall. "Well... were going to be in here for a while, so... we have plenty of time to get to know each other. So who are you in where were you born" he said looking around the room.

Chronin got into the ship and closed the door when Tabby came in. He walked past Jetho with only nod before sitting down in the pilot's seat and turning back to the others.

"If this isn't the container, then it isn't our problem since these were the coordinates I was given. Now, if the container is supposed to destroy itself and the people around it, its either something of real importance or someone is really paranoid about the skeletons in their closet." He spun around and put in the provided location that the targets were last seen at before turning back to the other two.

"We're looking for two people named Javen Howl, and Koreno Seeker. I only know that they once contacted the Sphere about Everflame and that one is a wolf while the other is, spider-like. It'll take two days to reach their last known location, and hopefully thats also where they're still located."

The ship took off about two minutes after he had spoken, heading straight for where 'Howl' and 'Seeker' were last sighted.

Reggie kissed the vixen's neck, then moved up to her lips.
"Sorry about this. I get so angry, and I take it out on people close to me." He kissed her again, and rested onto her body, feeling her furry chest against his. "I guess... right now... you're the closest person I've got." He smiled and gave as much of a laugh as he could muster, which came out as barely a cough. "You can leave me whenever you want. You'd probably be better off... but you really like me, don't you." He looked into her eyes, moving his face closer, kissing her again. "Ofcourse you do."



David returned a smirk to Tess, then headed up towards the cockpit. He dropped himself into the pilot's chair, and pulled the networking system towards him. Tapping in, he accessed the Med-bay system, and navigated to corpse retrieval, cancelling his request to take Jaack aboard.



Leia made herself small, and shuffled towards Leo , sitting beside him and leaning against his shoulder. She shut her eyes, and held his arm close to her. Only one of the guards had talked at all. A big leopard in a grey uniform. The other was an even bigger tiger, wearing the same. He stood by the wall, looking at the ceiling. The leopard looked at Leia and Leo.
"My name's Kane, and people like to call him Abel," he said with a smirk as he gestured over to the tiger, who rolled his eyes. "We're both from a planet called Draln. You've probably not heard of it. It's near the border worlds."

Annie met his kiss, wrapping her arms up and around his broad back. She ran her fingers through his fur, meeting his gaze tantalisingly "You're a little rough I'l admit..."
She leant close to his ear, rubbing her cheek against his as she did so "...Luckily for you I like it that way, Reg..."
She grinned childishly, running her hands further down his body "So.... As far as I'm concerned here..." She put her forehead against his, looking straight into his eyes "I wouldn't leave you for anything in this universe..."




Tess stepped off the ramp, stretching languidly with a yawn. The yawn turned to a sharp squeak of surprise as Blaze pounced out on her from behind the Mechanicus Carrier landed beside David's ship. She blushed, quickly turning the surprised squeal to a giggling laugh as RUST-E and Yuri showed themselves as well "Hey Blaze.... And Yuri, mah lil' brother from another mother..." She put an arm around the young lynx's shoulder, ruffling his hair even as he squirmed and pulled away.

Blaze smirked, watching as Yuri flicked his short bob-tail in brief annoyance. He stuck his tongue out at Tess, folding his arms and doing his best to look down his nose at her. He was rather hampered by the face that Tess was a good two inches taller than him, and the same in years of age "Blaze said he w'nted to see ya.... I just got dragged along... As always if i may add..."

"Huh... someones not trying to make the best of things," Leo said looking at Abel, soon shrugging it off "Well nice to meet you Kane, wish we met under better circumstances... I'm Leo, my friend here is Leia" he said looking down to her before curling his tail around her to confort her "I'm from a planet called Qurana, not sure if you heard of it either but... thats what happens when your sun is a blue star. No one wants to visit because of a little heat. But I can't talk, I don't like the cold"

Reggie grinned.
"You're a perfect woman. If it weren't for the circumstances, I'd think I was dreaming." He licked up Annie's neck, along to her chin, and looked down at her; tracing his eyes over the curve of her lips, the glow of her eyes, and the way her hair splayed out. Black with strands of grey appearing. He let out a deep low growl, vibrating through her body, and snapped his jaws, before pressing his lips to her neck, letting his teeth scratch against her. The blood slid across his lips. He tasted it again, and released her. "Maybe we should stop for tonight though. I dont think your son would appreciate his mum getting stitches."





The leopard's laugh was high and strong, but scratched along his throat.
"Abel just hates the name Abel," he said. "It weren't exactly his choice, and as for the heat you might like it here. On the weirder illnesses, they like to mess with the temperature, to see what will happen."  He shook his head and ran a paw over his short cropped hair. "Your guys' illness is definitely on the weirder side of things." There was a ping from the screen, making Leia jump and hold Leo's arm tighter. A section of the wall beside Abel slid away, revealing some sterilised, plastic board games. The tiger pulled them out and lay them in front of Leo without a word.

Nero glared at the games from inside Leia's mind.  OH JoY...I HavE ThE FeelinG ThaT I MaY JusT GO StiR CrazY MyselF...

Leo blinked looking quietly at the bord games his ear flicking with slight annoyance towards them and told Leia "Its allright..." he then let out a sigh scratching his head a bit eyeing the bord games. "Unknown days, weeks, months... our main source of entertainment... is a bordgame." With another flick of his ear the serval leaned forward opening the box looking at it's containts "And the tempeture... nothing below freezing right?" he asked sounding a bit nervous, as he layed out the bord figureing to go with it, if its part of there test.

Annie sighed, nodding "I guess your right...." She made no move to get up, or slide out from underneath him. Sighing, she nuzzled his neck, enjoying the feeling of being so close to another person again. A feeling she had not felt for a great number of years.
She opened her eyes, and glanced across the room at the framed photograph on her workbench. A single tear rolled down her cheek, ending at her lips with the sharp taste of salt. She looked back up at Reg, and nodded "Okay... But tonight... Was heaven Reg..."



The three walked down a rather less crowded corridor, the automated trolley rattling alongside them. Yuri sat on the trolley itself, legs swaying with its erratic movement over the steel grated floor. Blaze walked close to Tess, glancing sideways at her repeatedly "So... You say David needed to sell this to get an engine part?"

Tess nodded, shrugging "Sure... I reckon its a good deal I got..." Blaze nodded in return, watching as Tess walked with her tail swishing languidly behind her. He felt the urge, as always when he was with Tess, to reach out and hold her hand as they walked. He flexed his fingers, nervously reaching out, his heart beating wildly.
Suddenly RUST-E was between him and Tess, giving a sharp little whistle, looking between the two of them. Blaze frowned, but said nothing else as they continued to walk. He dismissed it as mere chance, but he had been sure the little robot had separated them on purpose....

Leia shivered and hid her face behind Lei, closing her eyes and whimpering. Abel tilted his head, trying to get a look at her, while Kane sat opposite Leo, with the board game between them.
"Sometimes they do. It's not uncommon," he says, as they set out all the pieces.





Reggie lay down, feeling himself between Annie's legs, and her breath against his neck.
"It was... is heaven." He closed his eyes, and moved to her side, holding her close and falling asleep.

"Great! I'm gonna have fun with that. Ever heard of blood sickle? Thats an adaptation for my planets climate... its not the common anemia, thats just damageing. Diffrence being, they act like pine needles now without the plant fucntions of corse, they last the same as normal cells some generations had been born with ones that has a speacil protien that prevets freezing. I was the unfortunate bunch that wasnt... and frozen blood sickles can cause internal bleeding, not sure if its deadly... no ones died from it yet." Leo looked behind himself with a concerned look before murmering to her "Something wrong?" then reaching back behind her to place a hand on her shoulder.

Annie sighed, snuggling in close to Reggie. She could feel every rise and fall of his chest as he slept, hear the dull and steady thud of his heart. She rolled over slightly, now staring up at the steel underside of the top bunk. Every scratch and blemish on the worn metal was visible in the half-light, and yet no matter how long she waited sleep would not find her.

She sighed again, rolling back over and nuzzling into the warm body of Reggie, trying to clear her mind. It was another hour before she finally fell asleep, curled up in a protective foetal position, head laid across Reggie's chest...



"No, thats where your wrong... This datapad is top of the range, five megahertz disk space and state of the art bitration system..." The gruff-faced wolf looked from Tess, to the datapad she was waving energetically in front of him. He took it curtly, sniffing disparagingly before finally handing over a handfull of credits. Tess smirked, taking the cash and turning back to face Blaze with a flirty swish of her tail "Good doing business with you sir... C'mon guys, time to go find someone to buy all this old clothing..."
