The elevator stopped, as the power in that small contained section of the sphere died. The heat seemed to rise, and something formed of white heat began to coalesce. It was growing beside Leo, and he could hear its breath.
"The dark was here," its voice was strained out, but growing stronger as the being formed tighter and denser.
Tabby pressed her paws to her forehead, rubbing down over her eyes.
"You know what? I'm tired of you. I don't want fireballs, I want men, and you aren't that." she sighed, zipped up her top, and then smacked the side of a fist to the wall. She licked her lips and stared at nothing. "Just... get out of my room. Let's get this job done."
Shivan snapped her beak in satisfaction.
"Ahh I see." Smiled and toyed with the wolf's ears. "So you were only a child back then. Nineteen years old, no doubt following orders when you abandoned your career, for a murderer." Her tongue could be seen, sliding up the inside of her upper beak, and then she breathed a sniff of a laugh. "You konw, there is dispute over whether he just killed a lot of people, or whether it was actual genocide."
David gave a little smirk as Blaze caught a glimpse of Tess. He leaned in close and whispered to him.
"So she's not your girlfriend, then, but you want her to be." He grinned wide, but as he turned to look back, he caught a glimpse of the huge fox striding his way.
"Hey David, what's all this?" David almost shrunk, and he struggled with words.
"Errm... we're fixing the ship. This kid's friend is helping us out." He looked around, eyes darting, searching for escape routes.
"Brilliant, well, I was thinking, maybe we could stay for a little while," Reggie said, and David lock a bemused glance at him. "This place is nice."
"You mean, the people are nice," David replied, making Reggie smirk, which turned into a full grin.
"Yeah, the people are very nice." David sighed, shook his head.
"Alright then, well you go back to your new bed-buddy, and I'll sort this out," he said. Reggie nodded in agreement, then turned to the ship.
"I'm just gonna get some stuff from my room, 'kay?"
The officer seemed to just slightly drop his shoulders, as the possibility of Nero wreaking havoc played in his mind.
"Well maybe you can try different avenues before anything like that is required."
