Everflame 2 (FINISHED)

Chronin was a bit late to hear the 'Get off the ground!', but stopped just before the ground Tabby was on, and looked up. "What was that?" he yelled before feeling the ground move as well, jumping onto a tree with almost enough force to uproot it from the side.

Leos eyes widen in  terror and began thinking to himself "Im speaking... with the devil..." he thought as he looked down to his side backing away from the beast that began to form "Why me? And feel who? he asked with panic as his back now touched the wall in little hopes of getting away, and probably being mauled horrificly.

Nero sighed "Well I suppose..." His sentence stopped dead.  All of his senses began blaring warnings in his head.

Something else was here.  Something different.  Just what, he didn't know.  All he knew was that it knew him.

Nero's face contorted into a snarl as he looked back at the officer.  "Change of plan!  I'm leaving!"  Nero looked at the cage for a moment and opened his mouth to an impossible width.  The officer could feel a wind starting to pick up...which was odd because there can't be any wind on a space station.  The wind got faster and faster as small objects began to be picked up and dragged in the direction of the wind...right into Nero's mouth.  Soon the plasma itself was wavering in the wind as more and more things were dragged into his mouth.  Then, all at once, the cage buckled and twisted around itself and was sucked into Nero's maw.  With the cage gone Nero's mouth snapped shut, cutting off the wind.  Nero dodged a large book as it continued it trajectory towards him before he stood up.

Ignoring the officer and the scientists he walked back towards the hull of the space station.  With a slight turn of his head back at his captors, he grinned.  "Sorry to eat and run...but I have pressing business elsewhere."  With that he grabbed a piece of the hull and blasted a hole through it, sucking him out.  Nero allowed himself to fly through the black as he hurtled back to the debris field where he left his ship.

"Good." Shivan curled a smile, and relaxed on her bed of furs. "Do you remember Mabaton's wife or probably girlfriend at the time? A cat called Tina?" She stared at Annie, trying to gauge the reactions. "After her murdering husband died some time ago, she's been maknig quite a name for herself. Fake names ofcourse. Normally people know her as Krade." The smile disappeared, and her talons stroked between the wolf's eyes. "She seems to have been infected by her late husband, with his disregard for the law. People have been hurt."




Reggie looked down at Annie's son, and options bounced around his head.
"Okay then, I'll get it later." He turned back, and stepped to the side to let Blaze pass. "Come on then, lead the way."




The trees began to shift, and the ground shuddered. Beneath the dirt, something moved, something big. At the base of the tree, tiny tendrils shot up from the soil, curling up the trees, waving out to the air, tasting the smells, feeling the sights. Tabby watched the ground in front, and glanced behind and around.
"It's a saltworm, and it's a lot bigger than it looks. They're quite docile, so we should be safe, but stay on your guard." The tendrils turned to her, getting close, reaching towards her.




The beast began to solidify, as a lump of golden light, blinding Leo. It still grew larger, pressing against the wall, melting them into nothing. The lump had appendages, legs, wings, burning. Its eyes shone and shifted over its face. It turned around, at the walls and the floor.
"Why you? Me... I, we... We." It grew larger, and reached through a melted hole in the elevator, pushing a stump of a mishapen arm out, feeling around at the metal construction.





The officer moved back as Nero blasted through the hull, and it sealed behind him.
"Let him go!" he yelled, with his arms out. He turned to the scientists. "Have we got what we need."
"There should be enough research here, yes." A small red panda stepped forward with his reply.
"Will it work?" asked the officer.
"Maybe. Or it might destroy everything within a lightyear."

Nero clambered into his ship after a brief flight through space.  He was still no closer to the Everflame than he was before.  DO TheY EveN HavE IT?...AloT OF NothinG SeemeD TO BE HappeninG...I WondeR IF TheY WerE WastinG MY TimE ON PurposE...BaH!...They'rE FaR ToO SimplE TO HavE DonE ThaT....StilL, I NeeD TO FinD ThE EverflamE...  Nero sat in the cockpit and powered up the engines with a grimace.  ...I Won'T LasT MucH LongeR WithouT IT...

Blaze breathed a deep sigh of relief, and then caught it mid breath "Cool stuff... Mess hall is this way..." He walked past Reggie, bushy fox tail swishing behind him as his feline ears perked up to accompany his grin "So... You and mum 'ave been getting on well..." He smirked, watching Reggie out of the corner of his eye as the pair walked down the ramp of the ship...

Chronin had little time to think it over, but luckily did the best he could as he lept off the tree and pulled Tabby, in mid-jump, away from the advancing tendrils and onto the next tree he landed on. Before she could even say anything, he already lept through several trees and was waiting for the worm to go away. When he could no longer see the tendrils, he set her down then went to the next branch. "Lets get going before I find out why theres only two of us here..."

Eyes widen breifly as he, for the first time in ages, began to cower in shear fear. "I dont understand" he said seeing the elevator melting standing up but keeping himself pressed on the wall near the door "Is there something you want from me?"

Shivan stretched her wings, spreading an impressive display.
"Miss Yantova, I want you to contact her. You two have at least a limited history, and a call for help might just put her in our hands." Her eyes locked with Annie's. "We need your help, Miss Yantova."



Reggie smiled an honest, and almost bashful smile on his dangerous image.
"Yeah she's a great woman. Though what she thinks of me, I don't know, but I'm guessing it's good things." He looked down at the boy, with a searching look. "Is that alright with you?"



"Two of us?" Tabby looked around. "Where... where's your friend?" She climbed higher up the tree, trying to get a look, watching the saltworm shift the soil.




The beast looked back, focusing the heat of its eyes into Leo.
"The Everflame." The fire grew, melting away half of the elevator, making it shift and sway. "The danger is worse than we know. Apocalyptic."

Chronin climbed up his tree to get up to her elevation, then looked in the same direction she was looking. He held up a pair of dog tags as their chain was entwined in his claw. "Shortly after you kicked me out of your room, I went to search through my jacket for any small devices. I had the dog tags of the real Jetho, who was also a victim of my homicidal tendencies. Long story short, our ship is comprimised and someone is parading around as one of my fallen friends..."

Annie nodded, keeping her own gaze locked with Shivan's own piercing stare. She cleared her throat and folded her arms behind her back "I suppose I have little choice in the matter, though please the one thing I ask is that my son is not pressed for any charges. He has a life to live, and I have already had mine... His future is the one thing I still hold dearly..." Sighing, she maintained her gaze, amber eyes pleading...





Tess glanced over at Blaze and David as they walked down the ramp. She considered waving to them for a moment, but decided against it, simply content with watching Blaze's tail flick from side to side as he walked away. She grinned to herself, watching the tail as she sat with her back against the steel hull of David's ship.

RUST-E whirred up beside her, carrying a circuit board in his metal servo-claw. The little droid looked from Tess, to Blaze, blue eye flickering. Giving a shrill beep, the droid bumped into Tess, rather harder than necessary to get her attention. She gave a disgruntled yelp, glancing down at her companion. RUST-E beeped several times, brandishing the circuit board "Yeah, thats the one... Just go plug it into the server-console..."
Tess looked back up again, just in time to spot Blaze disappearing into the crowds of engineers. She sighed, standing up and kicking the little droid distractedly...




Blaze grinned, snapping his fingers and dodging aside two engineers with an energetic side-step "Dude... Your making her happy, why would I have a problem with that?" Smirking, he glanced up at Reggie "I aint some five year old who has no idea of whats goin' on. What I do know is I havnt seen mum this happy in years. Not since dad-..." He stopped, glaring sullenly at his feet as they walked through the hangar doorway...

Leo clung desprately to what little was left of the elevator shuffleing his way to the other end as that part was almost melted away he called up to the monstrosity pittifuly  as he was now in a cold sweat "I cant tell you where it is! I dont know where it is! Please I dont know..." he said breathing quickly panicing as the elevator was now amost fully melted. He can see his death now, either falling to death or being mauled brutaly by the creature that was infront of him. Even if the creature allowed him to live, he would probably end up like his collegue, mind driven mad, and killed so inhumanely.

"Wait what?" Tabby looked incredulously at Chronin. "If you killed the real one, why did you let an imposter on our ship. Who knows what he's doing right now." She looked back over to the ship, and tapped her sunglasses to zoom in as far as it could, peering through viewscreens and at the surrounding forest. At this distance, back-scatter X-rays would be useless, so finding out what he was doing was near impossible from where they were.




Shivan nodded in compliance.
"Your child is not a criminal, and my organisation would not treat him as such. However, you won't be able to take him with you on this. We don't want any unreliable elements." She stood up and walked over to Annie, pulling out a datapad. "What you have to do is simple enough. Go to a planet called Mngeya, and leave a beacon marked zero-four-five-one. You will be contacted by an operator. You ask for Krade. That you need her to repay a favour. We'll tell you the rest when we get to it." She smiled and handed over the datapad with those same instructions on it.




Reggie awkwardly grimaced at the situation. "Well, er... she's happy now, and so are you, right?" He said, glancing down to Blaze.




The beast growled, deep and harsh, the mountains cracking at their core. It turned to the surrounding steel, and reach out, grabbing the Capital Sphere innards. It continued to grow, spreading wings from it massive back. It crawled out, solidifying claws to grab hold, while the head and body burned through the surrounding metal, climbing up, growing larger, wings spread wide.
Meanwhile, the half melted elevator swung loose hanging against frayed cables.

Chronin let out a rather sad chuckle when he scrapped his claws against the bark of the tree he was standing on. "I planned on killing him either when he confronted me, or right after the job ended. Also, I did a quick sweep of the rooms: The ship was only ment for two, with a third room being a cell. I put 'Jetho' in the cell, and apparently he didn't realize that the room can only be entered. The landing probably jarred the cell door into opening, which was how he was able to get out on his own. I'll go deal with him, unless you want to fight him first..."

Calming down a bit and turning back on his flash light he swiveled it around to find a service ladder of some sort, not very surpriseingly finding none, for any lower is just the quarentine bay he just escaped. Sighing a bit he soon let out a gasp as the elevator jerked, hearing a loud creak, as if something was pulling apart giveing a occasional ping sound. Panicing in a desprate move leo darted forward takeing a few steps before jumping into the gapeing hole then to a steal beam inside just as the elevator made a large plumit. He sat down for a bit looking around the area he was in now before looking at the path the beast melted, his only way out with far many obstacles that risked him falling to his death.

"Its always something." he cryed out loud punching a pole next to him he now leaned against it crouching down in the fetal position "I just want to go home, continue my life. And this day to be over with" he sniffed now finaly cracking under the preasure.
