Well, technically Nintendo is a kids company, typing that breaks my hand. The game cube was nothing like that, they did it with the wii because so many parents complained about there kids sending information out to complete strangers, so the whole internet thing stopped for the game cube and Nintendo made the new friend code system. If you want to share your friend codes out to random people you can do two things, Internet, or get the homebrew channel and wait for the home brew wii connect to work.

Well, The interesting thing with my Wii is that It did read SSBB and I unlocked all the characters except Wolf, but then one day it suddenly stopped doing so inexplicably. It will read all other disks just fine (with the exception of some lesser GC games). Also based off the article on Nintendo's website from the release of brawl, Fixing the system to read Brawl only applies to a DVD drive upgrade. If the DVD drive is already a DL-DVD capable drive, they won't fix it unless it's under warranty or you pay to do so, which I'm poor and am out of warranty so I can't do it. :-/
