now i know you get everything in the furry fandom, but if someone replies and says; "i have 3 and a half characters so there's no answer i can take!" i will suffer a breakdown brought on by an overpowering sense of worthlessness.

now... back to the subject in hand;

i've only had one character for *ages* now, and so i've been thinking about creating another. i have him in my mind too, and i know it's a totally meaningless thing in the grand scheme of life and the true meaning of the universe, but i do feel a bit strange about it, and feel like i would be betraying a part of myself if i did it. stupid i know, but true.

i'm not asking for your opinion on my dilemma, however i am interested in what your views/experiences (for want of a better term) are on multiple fursonas. what's the most fursonas you've seen from one person? do you have many characters but only one *fursona*? and what's your idea on the difference between character and fursona?

Hrm... probably a question you don't want to hear, but the term "fursona" would lead to a furry-persona (or "fur character"), but some may have characters more suited to non-fur attributes. Would you consider those type in the poll for "fursonas"?

I guess I could say I have 2. Although I never really shed light on my other character, let alone bring him up, I still think that even though he exists it sorta counts I guess.

I have 1 character which is my main fursona and pretty much me.. then i have 2 other characters which is pretty much just other characters to me.. but i guess that makes 3.

Well, technically speaking, I have one "Fursona", but I have many, many "Characters" which don't represent me, yet I use them in writing and my stories, and occasionally Roleplays.

I'm surprised you didn't add an option for no fursona and alternatively a "or character" in each option. I only say that because there are a few people who participate that don't have fursonas or even just have characters without it being a fursona.

As of September 20, 2010  5:05 P.M. US Central Time, I only have one fursona, but I have been seriously considered creating another fursona, and might do so in the near or distant future.

I only have one fursona. I've created other characters, but even if they are somewhat a "part" of me, I don't consider them to be a representation of me. I use those for other purposes - writing stories, art inspiration, etc.

To me, you can never have another fursona. Your fursona is you, and having another fursona would be like having you cloned and say that you're both the same person. I have another "character" but she's not another fursona.

Personally I only have one but I think others have multipul fursonas to exemplify a certain trait about themselves without havin that trait compete against all the others.

this is exactly how i felt a while ago, but i'm being swayed. not by what's been said here... this was just something to get you guys talking. lol... but more just general life.
