I influence my life quite a bit with my philosophy and religion, so I'll explain a bit.
Also on another small note, one of my favorite authors (Michael Scott) seems to be promoting a vegetarian diet in his books, I don't have a problem with that, in fact it's inspiring me to want to try to go vegan, but anyway.
I totally would be vegan, but some meats just taste way to good. Like fish. And Mexican food. And Chinese food. Other than that I'll usually eat meat pretty normally and wouldn't care if it was gone from me, the only meat I blatantly dislike is pork, my religion isn't against pork like Judaism or Islam, I just generally don't like it.
Although for religion and philosophy, even though I think humans have degraded themselves a lot, I acknowledge that in accordance to my beliefs, we are the dominate species. Many people try to use this as excuse to just do whatever the hell they want with the Earth since they consider it theirs, but I think otherwise. I actually picked this philosophy up from a therian forum (I already kinda thought this way, I just didn't have much reason), so I say that since we're dominate, that means we have a responsibility to the world as well as dominance, so while we can use animals and the environment for our life, we still have to take care of what we don't need to use, and I believe that animals in particular are also our companions. Like with a leader, if a leader took his tax and just huddled up in his house, he would be a horrible leader. If he took some care of everyone but he overtaxed, he'd still be bad. If he took what he needed and took good care of the kingdom, he'd be a great leader.
Although I would love to be a vegan, I just can't do it. In fact I think I decided to become vegan a few times, then I was offered meat and just ate it anyway -_-
