Lurch remained unamused. He was ready for the people to clear out so that he could take his place on the boat again instead of the opposite side of the railing. At least here he wasn't being pushed around as people tried to see what was going on. He could feel their blood pulsing in their veins. He didn't understand why the took such great interest. They would all see it when they got there. They were all going to the same place.

True extended his paw to Irvin's to shake, the sleeve of his straight jacket hanging over his paw. "Nice to meet you, Irvin, I'm True." he said shaking his extended paw. As he stopped shaking he brought his arm back to his side causing a knife to slip out of his sleeve. It fell to the hardwood deck floor clattering. Jerry didn't look amused. "True......" "It's not mine! Honest!" he said frantically grabbing the knife off the floor. He quickly looked around for a place to ditch it, doing so he glanced passed Sam. Something forced his hand and he tossed the knife through the crowd making it land on the floorboards between Sam's legs. "True!" barked Jerry. "It wasn't me, Jerry!" he shouted as he ran through the crowd away from them all. Jerry pushed his way through them after him.

Before much longer the ship docked. The gangplank went down as the intercom squawked to life again. "Attention contestants. We have arrived at Lachesis, Please take your luggage and exit the ship in an orderly fashion. Once off the ship proceed into town and you will informed on what to do next. That is all." Passengers began to leave the ship and went onto the docks. The town was next to them already, but it was a large town, looking as if it were a city. There were a few tall and large buildings that stuck out over the top of it all. Through the town were more screens, one noticeable one was a large screen in the center. The town itself was already a bit lively, though not as bad as the ship. There were a couple noticeable bars in the main road which was visible from the deck of the ship. A few shops, hotels and other things were visible too. The two hotels on the main road were the large buildings, likely the other three were the same. The contestants flooded from the ship into the town, excited to finally be there. There was a considerably larger amount now, the ones that remained in their cabins came out and left. It was well over a thousand people leaving the ship heading into the town. A lot of them headed to the town square figuring that would be where they needed to go. The square was very spacious, able to easily hold the crowd of people gathering. The sun was still high in the sky, it was about 1PM.

Sam heard a clang at his feet. He looked down to see the knife on the floor and he picked it up. Looking both ways, Sam tucked the weapon away in his jacket and acted the best he could at being cool about it. Pretty soon, the ship had docked and the crowd began to dissapate. Sam wasn't eager to get off as everyone else. He figured he'd wait until the deck cleared. Once it did, he walked down the deck with his small army sack and followed the rest of the crowd. The gangplank was congested with bodies of traffic. Sam was at the end of it, tapping his foot as the line crawled.

The sound of falling metal caught Stuv's attention, when he looked in that direction. He saw a knife, but then it was thrown out of sight. 'Crap, someone will have a knife, ill need to be a bit more friendly, and keep my eyes open', when they docked he waited for the main crowded to depart before he made his way to the town.

Lurch pulled himself over the railing, taking his place on deck as the people began to clear out. He dwindled near the edge of the crowd alongside the fox. "At least your smart enough to not get caught up in the crowd." he commented, eying him warily. He had seen him scoop up the knife, he was not a fool, but he made no mention of it. It was best to play dumb, he found through past experiences.

Irvin waded through the crowd, pick-pocketing quite a few ID cards from other contestants. During his time in Peru he had picked up several useful skills, pick-pocking being one of them. He had also learn to pick simple door locks. After swiping about 10 ID cards he decided he'd wait at the pier for the weasel, where he won't be seen of course. While the first half was a total nutcase, True seemed reasonable enough. Well, he'd make decent cannon fodder if nothing else and judging by the frightened reaction earlier with the knife- come to think of it, where was that knife? Pretty sure it landed near that fox...- it would be easy enough to get him to follow him. In the mean time, he'd look over the competition.

True was followed down the gangplank by Jerry. He made his way to town, as he walked down the main road Jerry pulled him into one of the hotels. "Come on, we need to get your room." "Aww...But I wanna explore." "No, we need to get you to your room. You can play later." Jerry walked up to the counter with a sad looking True following. Jerry slid a piece of paper to the receptionist who seemed shocked to read what was on it. "Uhm, here you are, sir, your room is on the 18th floor. Room number 473!" "Very well..." Jerry led True to an elevator and took it up. A few other in which they payed no mind to had joined them on the elevator car as it closed and went to their floor. They exited the elevator and proceeded to their room. Jerry open the door and led True in. It was a very large and luxurious room. A suite of suites, an enormous bed, a built in kitchen and hot tub. True's eye lit up like he had just walked into a candy store. He immediately ran passed Jerry to go jump on the bed. As he jumped on the bed he noticed the fridge and ran over to see what was in it. He spotted a large supply of coca-cola in glass bottles. A smile reached all the way across his face and he quickly grabbed a bottle. He popped it open with another knife he pulled from his sleeve and proceeded to drink it. "True!" True choked when Jerry barked suddenly. He had also realized he had another knife. "I-It wasn't me, Jerry!" Jerry grabbed him by the scruff of his neck, relieved him of his drink and knife then went into the bathroom. There he stripped him to his boxers and took his straight jacket, already another knife fell out. He sighed and picked it up. "Take a bath, True, I am going to take the knives from your clothes before I return them to you." "Aww...Nier is going to be mad, you know. And he's gonna yell at me again!" "Just ignore him, True. Now go on, I'll be in the other room." Jerry left the room and went back to the kitchen to take the knives out of the straight jacket. He took them out one by one and set them on the counter. It began to make a pile, a large one well over 15 or so knives. "How did he smuggle so many in...? I swear...He's going to go back to prison if this keeps up..."

"Yeah, I'm not a fan of them either." Sam said in response to Lurch. His arm had continued to rub against the knife in his jacket. It was getting quite uncomfortable for him. He slid his arm into his jacket and took hold of the knife, pulling it out but then quickly stashing it up his sleeve as he held the grip in an upward motion. He knew people were eying him. He was sure that he wasn't the stealthiest about that knife when he picked it up or when he slid it up his sleeve. He knew that he now posed a greater threat to most of them. It didn't seem to phase him; however, any sudden movements and Sam would act accordingly. He was ready to fight. He pulled off his shutter shades and stuffed them into his pockets, exposing his bloodshot eyes as he looked up at the back of the crowd.

Irv followed the weasel to one of the hotels, making note of a nearby bar. The hotel was big, very tall. He heard the receptionist say that True would be on the 18th floor in room 473 and wrote it down on a small note pad he kept in his bag. Irvin then went to find his own hotel. It was about a block down and seemed rather old by comparison. The room was nice and he was on the 8th floor though, so it wasn't all bad. After getting situated, he decided it was time to get his potential ally/cannon fodder. Locking the door on his way out he made his way back to True's hotel. He asked a lovely little fox maid where the elevators were. She showed him and he thanked her. Eventually he found True's room and he knocked casually on the door.

Lurch walked to one of the nearest hotels, not so much concerned with quality as he got a room key and headed to a room. The place seemed almost depressing. With the money he did have, he could have gotten a fairly decent one, but he was not one to be picky with where he was going to lie his head. In the end, all that mattered was that there was a bed. He jerked his head around to inspect behind him as he walked down the hallway, swearing that he saw something out of the corner of his eye... But upon further observation, he noted that there was nothing in the hallway but himself and some of the yellowish lights that were above the doors. The vulture scratched his head, then continued to walk down the hallway until he made it to his door, still unable to shake the feeling that something was watching him. He twisted the key in the door and slipped inside, quickly shutting the door behind him, realizing it was dark. His heart began to pound as he groped for the light switch. When the lights illuminated the place, a wash of relief came over him... The room was blank and empty, with tacky wallpaper and red carpet. To the left was a bed and a dresser, along with a small TV and a door leading to the bathroom. "Look at you Lurch, you work for Loan Sharks, and you're getting spooked over an old hotel... You figured you'd be used to it now, given all that you've done." he said to himself, plopping his suitcase on the bed and unpacking his things. "Though usually intuition doesn't lie." He scratched his chin looking at the clothes in the bag.

Sam walked into the first hotel he saw. Failing to seduce the receptionist at the front desk, he was thrown his room key. After catching it with his face, he held them up in salute before walking off to the elevators. When the doors opened, he saw the same vulture from the boat. He thought about saying something but he just followed after him. The vulture disappeared into one of the rooms. Strangely enough, Sam's room was located directly across from Lurch's. He opened his door and flipped the switch. The light turned on and he took in the atmosphere. The room was decent for him. His eyes lit up like a little kid. The tacky wallpaper, disgusting bathroom, and crappy TV was nothing like he'd seen in a long time. There was a ceiling fan as well, spinning crooked and caked with dust in the middle of the room.

Sam dropped his things and jumped up on the bed, which he was sure was gross enough in itself. He jumped like a little kid. His face turned to shock when he noticed the springs were a little too good, shooting him up to the top of the ceiling and causing him to destroy the ceiling fan by knocking it to the floor with a loud bang. Sam landed hard against the dresser cabinet, destroying the mirror and causing him to land in a crumpled mess on the floor.

Stuv was nothing on the wealthy side, he could barley afford his stay at an old run down hotel. When he got there he saw a vulture start to head up to its room. 'I think I seen that one from the boat' he though him self, as he eyes the bird, and got his key, he quickly started to follow the bird, trying to gain loss time. 'If it snip the creature and run it should be dead before long' he thought this, as he stalked the bird, like his ancestors to a water Buffalo. He could almost reach his hands around the birds neck before he heard some loud creature behind him, 'are you kidding me' he thought to him self as he quickly hid in his room.

Jerry heard the knock on the door, around the time he had finished pulling out all the knives. The pile had doubled in size if not more since he had counted. He set the straight jacket down and walked to the door. On the way he reached into his suit, pulled out a small handgun and opened the door slightly keeping the pistol hidden behind the door. It was the panther from earlier. "Yes? What is it? Make it quick, boy." He didn't expect to see him of all people, he was unsure of his intentions but if he wanted trouble he would be ready to protect True as were his orders. As he waited for Irvin to respond True ran out of the bathroom covered in soap suds. "Who is it, Jerry?!" "True! Get back in the bath, right now!" "I'm sorry, Jerry!" he said running back into the bathroom. He sighed and turned back to Irvin at the door.

Outside in the square the big screen lit up, along with all of the screens and televisions anywhere else. Two people came on the screen, behind them a typical news background. They were clearly announcers of some sort, blatantly obvious from the smiles on their faces. The fake and overly happy ones. On the left was a female dog, a golden retriever. To her left a male wolf with all black fur. "Hello, contestants! Welcome to Gore fest! We hope you are enjoying your trip so far. I'm Dennis and here with me is the ever so lovely Alexis!" said the wolf. "Oh come now, get on with the announcement you dog." Alexis responded playfully. "Right, first off, we will be the announcers for this month's show! And we are happy to be here! Now that that's out of the way, we're here to inform you of what you will be doing tomorrow. For the rest of the day you will be relaxing and enjoying the commodities of the town! For the rest of the day all the stores and bars are half price, so enjoy them while you can! As for tomorrow you will all have to retrieve a number from one of the many booths located through the town. Depending on your number is how you will be transported to Archteris. Those who draw an even number will be airlifted into the city via helicopters. Those who draw an odd number will be taken by boats. Both of which will drop you off at random locations in and around the city. Don't worry, the zombies won't be around when you arrive. Well, that wraps up that. Until we see you again! We're always watching..." Throughout his speech he was overly cheery and happy until the last sentence. His tone became more serious and sinister. Immediately after the screen went black.

Irv had hoped that Jerry would have just left him. It was going to be more difficult with him there, but no matter. "Excusez-moi? That's rude. I heard True was here and I was going to the bar down the street so I thought I'd see if he'd like to come," He said. "I'll pay, of course. Oh, don't look at me like that. Having an ally when surrounded by enemies is never a bad thing, I'm sure you'll agree. I can wait until he's done in the bath, though I wouldn't mind being invited in..."

The screen flickered as the announcement blared from his TV. Lurch had nearly jumped almost across the room when it came on, almost shooting off the gun he managed to sneak through in his luggage. "Jesus, you're jumpy tonight, Lurchy." He said, sliding on a jacket and concealing the gun under his sleeve. "At least the bars are cheap. Cheaper than it was to bribe the security to look the other way on my luggage, anyway. I ought to hit up one of them, relax some." He sighed and stretched his arms and wings a bit in the room, then slipped the key into his pocket, eying the luggage on the bed. "I suppose I ought to take care of you when I get back." He creaked the door and looked out, checking the empty hallway again before heading to the help desk. When he got there, he got directions for the closest bar and began to make his way there. It felt like it was going to be a long night...
