"okay Commander, I'll meet you there." he said setting his radio into his holster and he made his way to the edge of his allies campsite and went ot the radio truck. The fox leaned against the radio truck and he pulled out a smoke and lit it, taking a long drag and exhaling from his nose.

What the fox hadn't noticed in the battle is that a bullet had grazed his skin on his left arm, some blood was dripping onto the ground. The fox pick up his radio and he called into the camp.

"Private Alan, bring in some diesel fuel ASAP." he ordered. "yes sir, be there in a few." the private replied.

Kitt walked through the camp, nodding distractedly to the salutes of soldiers as he passed. Finally he reached the edge of the campsite and the radio truck. Lucius was already there. Kitt nodded, he was very punctual "Commander!" Kitt set off at a slightly faster pace towards the truck, now grinning "On time I see. Better than I can say for myself..." He reached the truck and pulled out the pin that held up the rear guard. It clattered down and, after pulling open the canvas door, Kitt revealed the impromptu living quarters inside.

Jumping up into the truck, Kitt motioned for Lucius to follow. The cramped space was filled with crates of ammunition, crates obviously used both for seats and tables. Maps where strewn everywhere and electric lamps and radios littered one side. Kitt knelt down and switched on an electric heater, satisfied when it hummed softly and glowed a warm orange... "I am sorry that everything is so rudimentary. We live on the move, and so the vehicles are both our weapons, means of transport, and homes. But come, we must talk of moving your camp to somewhere safer..."

Lucius smiled as Kitt arrvied at the radio truck, the fox's smoke was already half way gone. The fox watched as the wildcat entered the truck and he followed him.  he looked around the truck and it was really cluttered.

Lucius took a seat at one of the table with a map of the area and he started to look it over. His eyes darted across the map looking for a way out of this death trap of a location. The fox was silent for a few minutes before he looked at his newly found ally. "commander, what if we go this way towards the lake?" he pointed out on the map.

Grinning, Kitt leant over the map "Yes, I think you are right..." He tapped the map, once at each of the red crosses drawn on. They crossed formed a straggled line, leading north until they finally reached where Lucius' camp was "These crosses mark where we destroyed a Serval camp... Any red dots, not yet crossed, mark where we believe there to be a Serval camp still standing."

He pointed to a cluster of dots between where they where now, and the lake "These three mark an airport, munitions factory and barracks. This is the main base of of operations for the Servals in this area... Alone, we where too weak to attack it directly. And each time we destroy a minor camp, others where resupplied and set up."

With a grin, Kitt drew an imaginary line around the cluster of dots to the edge of the lake, and then from there, back over a steep hilltop and to the Serval base "If we stationed artillery here behind the hill, and fired on the barracks we could take out the majority of their troops. You and your men than move in to take both airport and munitions factory. There should be vehicles, fuel, weapons... Airplanes even... We take that, and we could liberate this whole area. For without this base, the smaller Serval forces near here would crumble." He looked up at Lucius and grinned, put up two feet on a nearby crate triumphantly...

"That's a great idea." he said as he looked over at his comrade smiling. He never would have figured that out. The fox smiled and he sat down on a crate and he pulled out another smoke. "you want one?" he asked as he lit his smoke.

"when do you think we should get going?" he asked as he inhaled on his smoke and he leaned back a bit. "If you ask me we should get going soon so we aren't attacked again by the sergal forces." he said as he looked at the map again. The lake could be there new lifeline, clean water instead of having to use bottled water looted from stores.

Kitt took the cigarette and gratefully lit it, drawing a deep drag on it before replying "I intend for us to be ready to move this evening. And I have a plan for that as well..." He grinned and leant back against a crate, putting his feet up on the electric heater "You have large number of tents... The enemy knows where your camp is. What if we where to take down as few of the tents as are needed for your men to sleep in and tie them to my vehicles. Your men would have to march on foot I'm afraid, for we do not have many transports, but those who are injured will take priority over my own men."

Still grinning, Kitt leant forward "What we do is we move under the cover of night. My vehicles will carry tents and equipment, tied down or in the holds, your men will march with us. We only take as few tents as possible because we are going to leave part of your camp behind..."

He flashed a sly grin "We leave behind as many tents as possible, we could even drag the burnt out tanks from the enemy attack nearby as well. Set everything up so when viewed from a distance a camp still appears to be there. Once an enemy attacks the camp they will realise at once, but It may give us the time we need to escape and reach that lake." Kitt took another drag on the cigarette and raised an eyebrow "What do you think? It is tactics like these that have allowed my forces to remain unscathed for so long..."

"sounds like a great idea to me commander, we'd better tell our troops about our plan." he said taking one last drag on his smoke and tossing the butt outside. The fox got up from the crate and he headed to his camp and he told his troops about the plan. They were happy to be finally moving out of his death trap.

Lucius returned to his tent and he started to gather up what he thought were the most important; maps, food, water, communication devices, bulletproof laptop, and files of his troops. After he was done getting everything he needed he ordered a couple of his mention to bring down his tent; he was going to have to bunk with a fewnof his soldiers.

Kitt watched silently as Lucius climbed out of the truck. He waved a final salute in farewell and then was finally alone "Vladimir, I assume you where listening..." At the far end of the truck, a small window to the cab slid open. A dark furred wolf was sat at the wheel of the truck, also smoking. He nodded matter of factly "Of course."

Taking a drag on his smoke, Kitt glanced up towards the window and the wolf "And what do you think comrade?" Vladimir grinned, sharp white teeth glinting "I think they are exactly what we have been looking for..."

-----

Men ran back and forth, rolled up tents and crates carried between them and tied down onto vehicles with rope and nets. Kitt walked through the camp, boots squelching in the churned up mud as he watched the progress of moving out. The Red Star soldiers and Lucius' men where working together, if rather begrudgingly, and it was all coming together quickly and efficiently.

He grinned, looking up to the sky. It was darkening, soon it would be night, and they could be on their way...

-----

Night fell quickly, clouds obscuring the sun before it sank below the horizon, meaning the last few tents where packed up by torchlight. Men where formed up into groups, nervously checking over weapons as the crew of the Red Star vehicles made one last check. Every truck was packed to bursting, every artillery vehicles laden with equipment.

Kitt reached for his radio, checking his watch. 9:05 PM  flashed from his wrist and he nodded, flicked the radio switch and crushed a cigarette butt under one boot "Move out!" As one, the column of vehicles started their engines, black smoke belching and treads lurching forwards. Kitt jumped up onto the step of the truck as it moved off, wheels churning up the mud as the two armies made their way over the hillside...

Lucius was riding on one of the trucks armed with his M60 machine gun. The fox watched as his men and the Red Star soldiers walked alongside the vehicles. He looked back as he saw his camp disappear in the distance, it looked like their were still people there.

The fox grabbed his radio and held it to his muzzle "commander Va'Szarda, how's everything going?" he asked as he looked around, coughing a bit from inhaling a bit of the dirty smoke from one of the artillery trucks.

At the head of the column a single jeep lead the way. Swerving and bouncing it raced over the muddy earth, the driver grinning as he skidded the little vehicle up the slope. Kitt locked the wheel again, swerving around a large boulder, and reached for his radio. He held the device between cheek and shoulder, still driving at top speed as he spoke "Hello commander, all goes well... So long as the men on foot can keep up this pace then we are making good progress-"

He paused, swerved around another boulder and bounced the jeep over a muddied rut in the earth. In the passenger seat a soldier gripped the sides of his seat for his dear life, eyes wide as Kitt swerved the jeep to a halt. The soldier relaxed, if only slightly, and Kitt stepped out of the jeep.

He closed the door behind him and pulled out a pair of binoculars, scanning the horizon as he talked into his radio "-Like I said, we are making good progress. I say we stop during the day, set up temporary camp. There is a forest marked on the map, in the bottom of a valley halfway between us and the destination. How about we stay there and then move again during the night?"

Crocodile stalked the caravan, watching the one with the one they called... He dug into his mental databank... Kitt. He blinked with interest as the jeep stopped and Kitt got out. 'I'll play with him, see if he'll notice me.' Croc thought as he emitted a low growl designed to get Kitt's attention, then darted away to a diffferent position on the other side of the road by cross up ahead then coming back. He snarled loudly, the went ahead, crossed, and came back on the other side. 'Now, let's see if this ruse works.' He thought. He was one nobody's side as of yet, though he knew he had to choose soon... Otherwise he might be mistaken for the enemy and killed. Gears in his legs whirred softly as he stepped back, surveying the now cautious caravan of soldiers.

Kitt drew a pistol from the holster at his hip and raised the weapon, already stepping back towards the jeep. He cocked his head to one side and glanced curiously at the newcomer... If he was a spy for the sergals, there was no question but to shoot him. Then again they had made no other move but to get his attention... They could possibly be an ally, or at least helpfull...

Behind the jeep several trucks rolled to a halt. The column of vehicles had caught up, hundreds of vehicles belching fumes into the sky, engines rumbling. Men, red star infantry, jumped out of the two nearest trucks. They raised weapons and fired, bullets flying kicking up mud around the single figure ahead. More men made to rais their guns, even as Kitt held up a hand and shouted "Hold fire!"

"It would appear... You are... Suspicious." Crocodile hissed cooly as he stepped from the jungle, three dozen assault rifles pointed on him in less than a second. "One could assume... We are the same... Situation." He mused, his words coming slowly. "Forgive the... Speech, but I've yet to fully master your... tongue." The cyborg whirred. He shifted from foot to foot, gears in his legs working as he did so. "Why do you fight those... Others? They are your.... Kind, why not... Build, instead of destroy? Create lives... Instead of ending them. Not that I... Question your motives... I am simply curious." Croc told the soldier. "I can be of some use, if it's so your desire. I can move faster than any of... Them." He whirred. He swung his powerful tail from side to side. He took a step back towards the jungle when he heard a safety switch go off. "They are... Trigger-happy, it would seem. Not exactly a bad trait, wouldn't you agree?" Crocodile said, flashing a fanged grin at Kitt.

Lucius saw that the column came to a stop and he jumped off his vehicle and he headed up to the front of the column of vehicles and he saw a cybernetic Croc talked to Kitt. He stood a few steps behind the red Star commander and he heard him speak. He was amazed at the cybernetic parts whirring and moving around. He had a feeling that something wasn't quite right, why was this...thing (no offense) out by himself. Most people who tried to go out on there own were usually killed.

The fox stepped forward besides Kitt and looked at the cyborg, his M60 still ready to fire if necessary. He listened to the croc speak as he talked about the sergals. He raised an eyebrow as he recieved the cyborg's speech to help the sergal race instead of fighting them. "what's your name?" he asked looking at him as he stepped back towards the jungle.

"My name... Is Crocodile." He replied, stepping from side to side. "You're probably... Curious, as to why I have chosen... Who to... Fight for. It is indeed... Quite simple. I've yet to see... Who has... A better cause. It would appear... You are the, err... Superior choice. Not that I approve of this needless war... But it seems I would have to take a side sooner or later." Crocodile said. "With your... Permission... I will, can, rather... Fight for you." The cybernetic dinosaur whirred.
