XD lol...my teacher was just telling me about this. That be awesome if scientists find a way, through this discover, how to make people solar powered so we wouldn't have to eat stupid sugar produces or carbs. Best diet plan ever, well just start shooting up people with algae. Lol
It's a very exciting and cool discover. Yay plant power!
I am that I am, even if only for a moment. And I will always try despite my flaws to summon what I can to become better than what I was.

That would be the day when humanity gives up land instead of stripping it for somthing, and I highly doubt farmers would give up growing. After all they still got all those people who don't wanna be more plant like, to feed.
We spend so much energy working for money, which we can't eat cuz it's pointless, just to buy food, cook it...then after hours of preparing then you have to find the time to sit down long enough to eat. Plants get food just by standing there. Being human is so inefficient it's maddening.

Lol...and that's where creatures like godzilla get a new food supply, or we'll be harvested for crops grown by aliens. But yah people will multiply, and then they will either die from destroying the planet or people could actually start using birth control or condoms to prevent unnecessary births and deaths...but oh wait the new pope is against birth control cuz he approves of priests who molest and rape children and also believe the holocaust never happened...oh and he said any form of birth control is a sin, even if the children suffer and die, or the mothers and families die from starvation because money had to be put towards to child its way. Humans sometimes drive me mad when they do silly things, but somethings are worse than others, like starving in a world full of food, it's like dieing of thirst with a cup of fresh clean water in front of you. Sadness.... :(

Beware Mad Scientist Rantings
World hunger could be solved if people would just use protection more often and have children when they are ready and able to support them. But why would people find sense in doing anything that could possibly improve their lives. So green algae or no green algae... if people don't start listening to the possible solutions science could offer, they will never solve any of problems in the world that are affected by the reality of the situation. And God did not create this world for humans to screw up with their silly wishes and ideals, if he gave us life, it was so that we may live, on our own, meaning without his help. Only by taking action and responsibility over our own lives gifted to us as living beings, will we be able to survive as a race of intelligent life forms...but sadly I guess humans will never be ready for the big leap of being independant from this parent they named God...and will continue being just but parasites sucking the life out of their own mother world till everything is dead. And I'm sure we'll all be happy then...cuz we'll all be in hell together...does that sound great. T_T
At least it will be warm and toasty... I'm sorry to rant but what's the point of discovering new things for the better of the world, if the people on it are unwilling to better themselves in the name sack of preserving life, so it may continue to flourish in peace and happiness... It makes no sense...This is the reason why I'm studying biology cuz I'm tired of this praying for answers bit...If you want something, get it yourself, or at least try to improve yourself so you could possibly do better than the average joe, praying somewhere, for mana to fall from the sky. And scientists have learned how to make mana as well...from the bible of all things. Ain't science funny...it can even prove stuff said in the bible.

You'll still need to eat.  Plants dont just magically generate sugar, they need to import the necessary ingredients too.

I understand that simply injecting algae into your skin isn't going to provide enough nutrients needed to maintain the metabolism of a human. But it was a thought more towards reducing the amount of food people consume, because how much food do we eat and how much money do we spend, and long hours working, to get food. I have trouble making enough to get enough for 1 meal a day let alone 3. It's true plants need other minerals and things, but unlike normal garden variety plants, algae is a very special plant, that has been discovered to exist in symbiotic relationships with coral, where both help eachother live through an exchange of nutrients, oxygen, and carbon dioxide. But unlike coral which doesn't really move, a salamander is an animal,  and yet it too has algae on it, exchanging nutrients the same as with coral. And plants create sugar through a process called photosynthesis, so all plants need is a lot of sun, water, and a good base to gather nutrients from, in this case a salamander, which crawls on the ground in the sun and is covered in a liquidy gewy slime, which means it's like a walking food bar for algae. So it's really exciting, but I'm a mad scientist at heart and probably get too overly excited about new discoveries like this. :/
