He flashed back to the scope, and saw that they had heard. One of the VC's was sniffing about and looking around anxiously. He said something to his two buddies and they started sniffing too. The three VCs stopped looking around, thinking it was nothing, and sat down again. He moved his scope to another VC who was sitting on the fence near the tent, watching for activity.

Shiro spotted Cyril poke his head out of the tent and saw where he was looking, moving over to the HIND. He saw no guards, but he scanned a little more and saw one leaning on the opposite side of the thing, smoking. he aimed up with his head, ready to fire.

Shiro pulled and the guard dropped like a stone, the life snuffed out from between his eyes.
He smiled wide, but the gunshot attracted attention, and he quickly turned to the sentry, and blew his head off too.
"Go boys go" he whispered as he changed positions, motioning for james to do the same

Shiro, in his new position a little closer, but still in cover, saw maybe 30 odd VC all running from different directions, firing his rifle at stragglers and loners, taking them out with one or two shots
