Berserk. It's not for the young ones but it's good.

I personally think that a lot of the listed above are beyond bad. However it's all about personal taste.

I also enjoyed Detective Conan a whole lot. This one is aimed for children and teens but has some blood and dead bodies in it. However, it's very clever.

Don't forget that all the episodes have a song theme to them. Notice their titles? It also features some nifty people like gender blenders and such without making it a typical comical or dramatic thing you usually see. Plus, the intro is just fantastic.
