Vampire Books

I'm interested in vampire-related fiction, and I'm always looking for related books to read. I have a small collection going. So far I've read:

Interview with the Vampire (by Anne Rice)
The Twilight Saga (by Stephenie Meyer)
The House of Night series (by PC and Kristin Cast)
Thirsty (by M Anderson)
Peeps (by Scott Westerfield)
The Blue Bloods series (by Melissa de la Cruz)
Companions of the Night (by Vivian Vande Velde)

I also own Thirst (by Christopher Pike), but haven't read it yet. And there are still others on my "wish list" that I haven't gotten around to yet. Just curious if anyone else knows some decent ones they could recommend. I generally enjoy "Young Adult" books, but whatever is fine.

Well, I personally can't stand vampire books because I think it's annoying how the YA section is filled with nothing but vampire books, rehashed ideas for vampire books, and even more vampire books......BUT I will put out an option for you since you enjoy them and you have every right to: I'd like to reccomend The Passage by Justin Cronin. No it isn't romantic vampires. It's more like evil bloodthirsty monster vampires and sci fi. It's also longer and more adult and ilterary...but hey, there's vampires? sorry I was no help.

I'm not a Twilight fangirl, I'm not only into cheesy romantic vampire stories. Thirsty and Peeps are probably my two favorites from my list, and they're both a bit unconventional.

Yesss! Bram Stoker's Dracula is the only vampire book I have read, I love that book . Read it, read it nao!

whoaa I love Vampire books, so Probably i can give you a list.

My favorite is Anne Rice's novels
But i read... well, very horrible vampire books too...

So my favorite list:

Anne Rice -  the Vampire chronicles series
L.K.Hamilton - Anita Blake the Vampire hunter series
J.R. Ward - The Black Dagger Brotherhood series
Kresney cole - Immortals after night series

Of curse, this list is just my favorites... Because this books have an interesting view, something, that caught my attention ^^

I love Ann-rice's books.
Their just so beautifully and elegantly written with a great story line and characters.
Lestat is almost irresistible to both love and fear.

As for the Twilight series, I loved the book series.
But I greatly dislike the fanbase and movies.
Stephanie Meyer writes great and her characters are somewhat interesting.

Umm...you might like the Vampire Academy series. (*whispers* I may love it more than Twilight, so yeah, you know... Haha.)
The absolute main character isn't a vampire but a dhampir. There are also two types of vampires: Moroi (the good vampires) and Strigoi (the evil vampires AKA pretty much our ordinary vampire image, bloodthirsty and heartless and whatnot).
I think you'd enjoy it. It's got a lot of substance to it and things don't go perfectly so you don't know exactly what's going to happen (unlike with Twilight when you can pretty much tell what's going to happen).

I've also read the Vampire Plagues trilogy but it's kind for kids between child and young adults (yeah, the age range says 9-12) so I don't think you'll want to read them. I had read them when I was a couple years over that age.

That's all I've got though because I haven't had a chance to read any others. But now I've got suggestions for what I should read by looking at what you've read, a couple of which (Blue Bloods and Peeps) I was planning on reading already.

Woo! Lots of suggestions, thanks! I enjoy watching the True Blood TV series, so the Sookie Stackhouse series has been on my to-do list for a while. Will definitely look up some of the others as well.

Yeah, I've heard you talking about Vampire Academy for a while. Might check that one out next. I thoroughly enjoyed Peeps. Blue Bloods is okay, but I've had a hard time getting into it as much because I've had to wait a long while between each book release.

You know this werepyre, I get pretty worked up over things like this. lol. Actually, I get worked up over any book/book series that I really love.
Yeah, the last Vampire Academy book came out in Fall 2010 or around there so you wouldn't have to wait for any more to come out. Though there is going to be a spin-off series using four of the "less important" (kind of) characters from the series as the main characters of the spin-off.
Glad to hear that you like the others. It's good to have an opinion on them beforehand.

You also might want to check out the chronicles pf vladimir todd series i have read them myself and theyre pretty dang good

Theres also a series of companion novels called the slayer chronicles it takes the whole vampire good vampire slayers bad and flips it around its pretty interesting

Ooh.  I love vamp novels too and have several to recommend.  All mine are via kindle.  By far the best I have read read recently is the Dark Days series by Jocelynn Drake, 5 books.   Blood destiny series by Connie Suttle is good too.  The only thing that I really didn't like about that series was there were too many overly powerful races and characters as well as a time shift of 350 years.  Time travel is a hard concept to make believable.. esp when its not the main focis of the story.   I can recommend more too..   Vampire Vacation is an erotica novel that I liked because it is written well and has a good storyline. The second half of the book is mostly focused on the story and not the romance/erotica
