Macid smiled and laughed as Constance hit him. After finishing his piece, he took one more piece and ate it a bit slower, getting full from the meal. He scratched his belly contently when he was finished, letting out a long sigh. All the troubles and worries that he had about being here for 2 years had vanished from his mind, for now. He decided to get up and stretch his legs for a bit so he wouldn't be so tired when they moved to the next area. He walked over to Moon and started to pet her. "I think if everyone is done eating, we should head out to the next area. What do you guys think?" He walked back to the group and picked up his bag and Anon, waiting for their response.

max looked up when the others thanked him, swallowing another bite of the piece of meat. "it was nothing, you don't have to thank me." he grabbed another piece and stood up, biting a chunk off while walking over and pulling out Ramsey. "if we could find some herbs and spices i can do more with the meat, but till then this is the best i can do." he said calmly turning back around and starting to walk back to the fire. he looked up at macid when he spoke, not even noticing that he had moved. "yea it sounds like a plan, what do you two think?" he asked looking back at the two girls.

Moon looked up from where she was laying, about a meter from the behemoth carcass, which was mostly bones at this point. The looked on her face almost conveyed exactly what she was thinking. "Finally, we can go." Moon got up and stretched, yawning, which almost sounded like a roar. She even stretched her wings again, getting it ready, though with her weight, she still walked more than fly.

I think it's a good idea, given I've been suggesting it the whole time. Mortis thought, her face not short of saying it for her. It didn't take her long to grab up her things. Her bag was just about the only thing she kept on her constantly. It was almost as if it were surgically attached. She merely stood up and waited near Moon. That urge of wanting to get going renewed now that she wasn't hungry. "It's about time. Why do you think I was pacing?" She mumbled.

"Well, we do have to eat. Which takes time." Constance said to Mortis' apparent impatience. She didn't say anything further though she could have, she didn't want to have to fight the whole walk to the next stop. At the very best she hoped she could be on her neutral list. "Maybe I should be the bigger ma-...Person and talk to her. Meh...I have nothing to apologize for. She was a bitch first. I mean it's not like she could control her brand new powers her first time. Could have cut me some slack...Maybe I should apologize..." she thought as she got ready to leave as well.

Macid ignored Constance and Mortis bickering and started to kick dirt into the fire he made. He didn't want to cause a fire to the meadow, nor did he want to leave a trail for anyone to follow them. He checked his bag, making sure he had his book and met up with the others. As Moon yawned and stretched, he went up to her again and began to pet her again. "I bet you're ready to go. You've been so good waiting for us Moon. You're such a good dragon." He patted her head before going over to Constance. He put his hand on her shoulder, asking her about the map. "You have the map, right Constance? Where's the nearest landmark to here?"

Moon let Macid pat her on the head since he was short about it, and twisted her neck in a couple directions to get the crick out of her neck. She jumped up and flapped her wings, flying up and checking up ahead. Moon quickly turned back around to the ground, having spotted a large pack of feral wolves heading straight for the group. She landed next to the group and let out a small warning roar that something bad was on the way. One could hear the howls of the wolves on the way. There was a full pack, numbering in almost 30, half of which were the larger types.

I had a feeling we had dawdled for too long... Mortis thought to herself quietly. She wasn't really sure what to do because of the howling, but quickly, she scaled a tree and opened her book flipping to a page just in case she needed to do something. She hoped the others would get what was going on because she wasn't going to sit around and give out a list of orders. As a last thought, she whispered loudly enough for the others to hear. "Leave the deer meat. It might keep whatever or whoever it is distracted from us."

Constance listened to the wolves howling in the distance, grumbling a little. "Great..." she said unamused. "Not only are there wolves, but now Mortis can gloat and say "I told you so"...When will it end?!" she thought. Her wolf stood next to her and growled into the distance. She knelt down and held onto the scruff of it's neck, she didn't want it to bolt off like the dog before. "Maybe they will leave us alone? Maybe my wolf can talk to them or something..." she said. She looked at her wolf and spoke. "Whaddya say? Can you talk to them? Or something?" she asked as if it could understand her. The wolf continued to growl for a few seconds before howling. "I hope that was good..."

Macid was about to try and ask Moon what the matter was when he heard the howl of wolves. His good mood dissolved as he kicked himself for jinxing their good fortune. He thought about the situation to himself. "If these wolves are enything like the ones back in our time, then we cant outrun them unless we all got on Moon, and I'm not sure if we'd all fit, let alone if she could support us all anyway." "Leave the deer meat. It might keep whatever or whoever it is distracted from us." Macid looked at the deer carcass. There was some meat left, but only enough for maybe 2-3 wolves, maybe more. Macid wasn't sure how many were coming, but he'd bet on Mortis' idea that they smelled the meat and were coming for food. "Mortis is right. I think those wolves are coming because they smell the deer, we should go before they get here and think we're food too."

max groaned hearing the wolves in the not to far off distance. "i swear i must have been born with bad luck.....that or I'm a natural s*** magnet..." he wined walking over to a nearby tree and climbing it, laying down in a high up fork in the branches and looking down. "whats the bet we'll be stuck here for ages?" he asked sarcastically not expecting the others to be listening to him. he sighed and just laid down and looked down at the meat he had cooked, waiting to see what the wolves would look like.

It wasn't long before the wolves came within sight, and even less time for them to bare down upon the group. There were 15 of the exceptionally larger wolves, and 12 normal ones. The normal ones kept their sights on the cooked deer, but the large ones were concentrating on the group members. However, out of the larger ones, there was one really large, it towered at 10 feet high on all fours, whereas the others were at 4 feet on all fours, the normal wolves 2 1/2 feet. The largest one's face was flatter, horizontally speaking, and was almost in the shape of an axe. Moon roared as she took flight against and dove down, tackling one of the large wolves and flying back up into the air.

Mortis flipped back to the page with the Komodo on it and began to draw. She almost didn't care that they had seen her, but she wanted to do something. All she could offer was her book, so that's what she did assuming that the others would be able to distract them. She had hoped to not draw any attention to the group, but it was clear that it was going to happen despite her efforts, especially when Moon dove down at them. Part of Mortis couldn't help but wonder why she didn't spit her poison down on them.

"Those do not look like normal wolves..." Constance said as the wolves made it to them. "If these are anything like normal wolves they have a hierarchy, which means they have an alpha male. Take him down and we prove that we are stronger then them and they will back down." she said as confident as she could. "I would suspect the largest one there to be the alpha. So we need to take him down." she continued, pointing out the obvious large one. Really all she could do is pitch ideas, she wouldn't be able to fight exceptionally well do to her ankle. Again she cursed her previous stupidity and reckless actions. Still knelt down to her ever growling wolf not wanting to let go of it knowing there was a chance it would just go off and die without purpose. She watched as Moon sprung into action and scooped up one of the larger wolves into the air. She pointed at the suspected alpha and let her wolf go. "Get that one, but be careful!" she commanded. She hoped Moon could have served as some form of distraction even if only for a second.

Macid watched as the wolves closed in and realized they were far from what he thought they might be. The tallest one with the axe-like head drew his attention the most, as it came straight towards them, paying no mind to the deer as some of the others had. He stood near Constance as her wolf and Moon took off to try and defend against the pack. If one of them tried to attack them head on, he wasn't sure what he would do to stop it aside from his fire wall, but didn't even know if it would stop such beasts, let alone how to even use it. He remembered Anon could read animal minds and decided to try it out. He pulled out the book and rubbed his paw over the cover, looking at the eye. He opened it to the first page and pointed the pen gauntlet at the largest wolf. "Here goes nothing. What do you want?!" He made sure to say it loud enough that the wolf would hear him, as he figured it worked similarly to reading people's minds.
