The bulldog refused to go to Max as it didn't want to leave its summoner open to attack, and jumped into the fray of attacking wolves, getting bitten a few times itself, but able to repel the wolves, not enough to really hurt them. While Mortis had been busy climbing, she didn't notice that the pages had been blinking red very fast until after it hit the floor. After Max opened his eyes, the red flash slowed down and turned into a white glow as the book turned the pages itself and revealed a new page. The page opened just as the band of larger wolves came charging at Max. When the page opened, the book grew to an enormous size, with enough room for a person to crawl on it. From the page, a giant dragon's head came out. It looked like Moon's head when she was still a baby dragon, but it was bulkier, had green scales, and was a 10-foot high head. There was a large, chained collar on its neck that prevented more than the head coming out. With that, the dragon let out a large ball of fire from its mouth, which engulfed the large wolves and turned them to dust, while the alpha that had stayed back, narrowly dodged it. The fireball had shot out like a bullet, and almost just as fast. The fireball hit a patch of plain not too far away and exploded just before the dragon head roared and disappeared back into the book. After disappearing, the book turned back into normal size, the page with the dragon's picture now an indent in the page instead of ink as it needed recharging. The bulldog and normal wolves had stopped their fighting at the sound of the explosion, and the roar of the dragon caused them to run away. The bulldog headed back over to Constance, but it wasn't about to relax since the alpha was now starting to slowly walk over to the group, an angry and very hungry look in its eyes. Moon had come back for another roundabout, but when she tackled the large wolf, she barely nudged him and was knocked back, since he towered well over all of them. Angry, Moon flew up again to dodge its charge at her and turned her head around and shot a stream of her poison breath and hit him directly, but it barely hindered him. Despite being poisoned, the alpha was merely enraged and ran straight for Moon, who had just landed a little ways from the group. She was tired now since she still hadn't recovered her magic from using her poison breath earlier.
