Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr by Chrisrtopher paolini
« on: March 28, 2011, 09:00:33 PM »
I started reading the series barely a week after the first came out.

Any fans?  :D

If so, what are your favorite parts in the series? Your least favorite?

Read all of em, and I just love em, their my favourite book series I have read so far, can't wait for the fourth book! :3
Might re-read them while waiting for it actually... I also love the fact that Christopher was only 15 years old when the first book, Eragon, was published.

Favorite part is hard to say.. but I do love the way he defeats Durza in the first book.. as well as the elf-transformation in the 3rd...
Some Roran-parts are among my favorites as well, but the Nasuada parts are kidna meh imo. Something else I like is the way I picture Brisingr, the sword.. Gotta love the fact how it sets itself on fire when Eragon says it's name!

About the movie based on Eragon, they missed out on so many details as well as pretty much re-wrote alot from the book to make it shorter which, in my opinion, made it very bad compared to the book! But that belongs in another topic I believe...

EDIT: Inheritance (the fourth book) has now been announced the other day, release date is set to November 8 :3

I love this series. I really don't think I could name my favorite part of the series. My least favorite part had to have been the first book. The similarities to Star Wars were too thick for me to completely ignore. But I love how much the series has come into its own, particularly in the third book. Ask me what my favorite part is once I read Inheritance, the fourth and final book.

I think my favorite thing about the series is the magic system. I love the way it works and how versatile it is.

I have to hold up my paw, I am an avid fan of paolini's works. I think my favourite parts of the books are the parts with Roran. I think he's amazing <3 Though I just love everything about it, the only irk I have is at the end of the third book. With the random shade that died in like two minutes. I am looking forward to how the rock of Kuthian comes into play, I think it's going to be on the isle of Vroengard. and it'll work once he discovers his true name and speaks it, as he has the namesake of the first rider and now he is the last free rider.

Yeah, you just got to love the magic, and I think galbatorix is almost findingi the true name of magic itself or something like that, from what Razak said. I love his writing style too so descriptive and detailed, he knows what he's writing about and it shows.

definatly a fan, and i agree with riku about roran, in the last book most of his scenes seemed to have more action than most of eragon's. and i think the movie's directors sould have read the second book before butchering the first, cos they prity much made it so they can't make a second instalment without re-writing the second book. i know it's not in the right place but i just wanted to know if i'm the only one who noticed this. but back on topic i can't wait till the last book comes out so i can finish the series, and like timmy said i'll probibly end up going over the first three books again before reading the fourth.

Yep, the movie was an utter disappointment, and I am so glad they are not making another one, or I hope they aren't.

But yeah Roran is awesome especially when he goes on those skirmishes in the villages, they were  awesome :P

I also wanna ask, who is everyone's favourite character?

Well, I'm usually the type that alwyas love the main characthers because of just being main characthers XD
But if I were to choose someone else than Eragon and Saphira, I'd say Roran is among my favorites :P

While I naturally identify the most with Eragon, I think my favorite character outside of him would have to be Angela. She's such an oddball and mystery. And you know, I think I'd have to put Murtagh on that list as well. I'm very, very interested to see what ultimately becomes of him. I don't think he'll stay a villain forever.

I love all the series and I love some of the fanfiction too.
I rather like Eragon becuase he just sounds so pretty and handsome and well...powerful.

My favorite part is where he forges Brisinger, his rider sword at the elven country with the girl elf using his body becuase she swore never again to make another sword that could cause such destruction,
I'm so happy that the new book will be here soon!
