Currently I am building a new system; That is, I am saving up for building a new system (hopefully by September)

Corsair 600t SE
Asus Sabertooth Z77
Intel i5-3570k
8GB Corsair Dominator RAM
Corsair AX750 PSU
Samsung 840 128GB SSD (plus an old Hitachi 1TB mechanical drive I pulled from a broken external HDD)
Sapphire Radeon 7950
Lite-on CD/DVD drive (can't remember the model)
and finally a Corsair H100i

Keyboard and Mouse are an old Logitech EX110 wireless set
(Windows 7 x64, btw)

I have a question; Should I wait for the new release of Intel processors coming up soon (Haswell, Tick) and get one of those (I then need to change the board as the pin number changes from 1155 to 1150) or should I carry on what I am getting, saving money as the prices should drop and then get Broadwell (Tock) when it's released next year?

As for other PC's;

The one I am currently using is a HP TouchSmart 310-1110me running Linux Mint 14 "Nadia" with Cinnamon user interface and my laptop is a HP Pavilion G6-1252se (my current gaming machine. Poor, I know) running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

To be honest, whatever you buy will usually be outdated in less than 12 months.
If Intel follows previous trends, Haswell will be more of a leap than Broadwell (think Has-Broad is probably gonna be like Sandy-Ivy). That means that if you wait for Haswell, you'll probably be up-to-date for longer than dropping for Ivy Bridge now. But then again, Haswell is expected in June - before September - so I guess that kinda makes this whole thing irrelevant.
Either way though, your processor wouldn't be bad in any case.

Really? I would have thought Broadwell is more of a leap as it's a die shrink/Tick where-as Haswell is only a new microarchitecture/Tock. I think what I'll do is when September rolls round I will get Haswell and then wait until Broadwell is released for an upgrade to the system, as you said.

Other then that everything is OK, yes? You never know, I may change the parts list by the time September is here.

Probably wait until September to finalise things, because most new things tend to come mid-year.
Having said that though, I don't see any major issues with it.

Also, Broadwell is a manufacturing leap more than Haswell, but usually shrinking something doesn't make it that much better. Changing everything around does make a difference though.

As far as I know rightn ow, Broadwell won't be coming out until around a year after Haswell. Broadwell will be the Ivy to Haswell's Sandy in terms of what it'll be like, as far as I've been able to tell.

Which is good, as I will build the system based on Haswell and then upgrade when June 2014 rolls around roughly 9 months later.
If you remember though Ivy was a massive improvement over Sandy, and from past experiences the Tick stage is usually faster than the Tock but the Tock is usually more efficient power wise.

Either way, we'll see when Broadwell rolls around next year.

Yeah it'll be interesting to see what happens.

Regardless of the quality I know I won't be able to afford it, but I'm happy enough with what I have right now in terms of CPU x3

Finally got to do a decent upgrade!
Moved from my old Q6600 quad core, with 4 gigs of ram...to...

i7-4770k - havent OC'd yet, but dangit haswell, why couldn't you be an amazing overclocker :(
Asus z87-Pro Motherboard
16 gb (2x8gb) 1866 Mhz G-skill sniper RAM
way too many old HD's
MSI Twin Frozr HD 7950 3gb
Antec 900 (original Antec 900 case from like 7-8 years ago, heck yeah!)
OCZ modXtreme 700 watt modular PS
Cooler master hyper 212+

I'm happy, until I have enough money for another SSD. Current SSD is in my laptop. My god so much RAM. So glad I didn't do 32 gb.

Looks good Timmy!
I allways like watercooling, makes for a silent pc. Even if you overclock it to where the parts nearly explode.

Btw, what EK radiator are u using? Looks like a XT240?

Thanks! Yeah, it's the XT240 ^^

Attached snaps are my cables, individually sleeved and then laced by myself~
Of course I'm documenting my progress using my big camera, although until' I finish this, my phone will have to suffice! XD

Well, the computer I have is a Samsung Chromebook Series 5 XE550C22....

Ugh....

Don't ever buy one of these. My main gripe with it is that it can't run any programs at all, which is something that I could really use.
