HELP ^.^!!!!!!! trouble connecting to IRC

Are you using an irc client like trillion or the java based one on the site?
I too wasn't able to connect via the site applet. (I only tried a couple of times last night though.)

when i try it says "unable to connect : java.net.SocketException : Malformed reply from SOCKS server"

everytime ive ever tried to connect using the web client it says
Unable to connect : java.net.ConnectException : Connection timed out : connect

so ive kinda given up. and i set up trillian like the one thread said but now i dont know what to do to chat....i wonder if i put the wrong thing in as my tagline....or what cause i am so bad with computers...i know something once its shown to me and i never forget but IRC is so confusing to someone who has never used it before LOL

If You've entered the information correctly and still it won't work for you.
Just click on the light blue dot on the messenger. Then mouse over and click on the channle menu that pops up. If you've only made one for IRC then only one should appear. Then another menu will appear. Click on join a channle.
Then enter #furry_forum_chat . You can press OK or hit enter. If everything's set up right an IRC window should open up.

Errors like that are due to Java. Please check your security settings, Java Version, etc. If not, just download and set up a Client.
