I think one of the reasons Not many people are bunnies is that generally, rabbits are seen as rather frail and quite feminine. Obviously We're not. but that is the stereotype. I guess it just doesn't seem as 'cool' as say a dragon or a wolf, or a lion etc.

I think someone's choice of species should involve what they personally enjoy, not how other people will assume they are because of that species.  It's interesting when people try to "figure me out" based on the species I like.  Or when I've heard "Um...I don't think we should talk, I really don't like bats/snakes."  Sounds just as stupid as racism.

i was going to say that it's nice to see that we're not over-run by wolves. however upon looking at the results, the only things that're above wolf are other, hybrid and house-cat. other is always going to be the majority, but of those hybrids, just how many will be wolf based? i think quite a few seeing as they almost seem like a furry blueprint right now. not that i'm dissing wolves at all. i like wolves... who doesn't? and i'm not being the king of imagination by being a lion. i have my proud ground pangolin alternate character though, so i'll keep myself happy with him

no no! go pangolin! we need more of them. i absolutely -adore- pangolins. so much so that i wrote a piece for my band after them. it always seems to go down the best at gigs too, so i think it'll be in our set-list for a long long time to come yet.

you know what i'd love to see? some interesting breeds of dog that aren't german sheps or huskies. there are so many beautiful dogs in this earth and people choose to be a german shep (which i can't stand) or a husky which might as well be a wolf where individuality is concerned. shall i make -another- character who's a golden retriever?

Yeah I know what you mean, My girlfriends current character is a viemeramer (i think that's how its spelt) which is a very nice dog. she has a book of dogbreeds and there are so many awesome and cute ones

It makes sense that you don't see a lot of breed incorporated into characters.  Few people make a fursona with the intent of pure personal enjoyment.  They're made to be appealing to as many people as possible, and a lot of furs seem to enjoy huskies/shepherds/retrievers/labradors, or maybe a rottweiler/pinscher if they're going for something a bit intimidating as well.

And I was teasing about the pangolin part.  I'm quite content with how I am, not a lot of drive to make new fursonas.  But I have them as backups, in case I ever want to branch out.
