Yeah, I can see that. Mind getting into an overheated state, arguing nonsensically, pulling down a bad reputation on the fandom purely through stress, and feeling bad about it all later; god that must be horrible.

"Normal" is a word for something that doesn't exisit. It was created by those who don't challenge the status quo, and don't aspire to greatness.
Happiness is the way the Universe rewards those who face the hardships in their lives head on, with determination in their hearts.
Love is what binds us all together, what keeps us sane, makes us insane, holds the world and Universe together.
In my mind, it doesn't matter where you are going, where you've been, where you are, nor even the journey you're on. What matters is that you keep moving, no matter where you're going, where you've been, and where you are. Just keep moving.
I am White-Heart, white because it is every colour put into one, my heart is of all colours!

I really want to wear my collar with people around, but I'm scared of how they'll react. I want to show my parents too, so I can wear it around the house without hiding in my room. My parents may already know about my collar, 'cuz sometimes I sleep with it on, and they wake me up in the morning, so yeah. And I told two of my friends one summer, and they didn't care. But I don't trust my class, or how random people will react. :/ What to do, what to do...

Try and tell your parents if they have seen you in it before they probobly dont care about you wearing a collar (wish my parnets did not care about it)

now as for your school reacting Im not so sure they can be so understanding because people are ignorent as **censor** and if your different they will chew you up and make your life hell (that is my own personal experience maybe you will have a different one)

your school finding out is a big step and you should really think it over if you are going to go through with it. I thought on it for a good 2 or 3 months before I stoped caring about what people think and I wanted to do what made me happy.

hope this helps

Lol, I slept with my collar on, and when my mom woke me up in the morning, she asked me why I was wearing a collar. She didn't care really, and just called me silly. XD When we got into the car to go to school, she poked fun at me and told me she had a leash in the back of the car. XD I'm glad my mom doesn't really care. <3

Been kind of interested in getting a collar recently, though, I'm a bit concerned of a couple of things.

Obviously the publics view of collars, the inability to hide collars, but mainly becoming "addicted" to a collar, if it really does end up like what most people feel, then I'd probably wear the collar all the time and feel really good about it, but that leaves significant ramifications in my real life.

Might just wait until I go into uni, and wear it at uni and stuff, people don't know me so might be fun :3

The public view of collars, I have found, is not to scream "AAAHH FURRIES, LOCK AWAY YOUR DOGS AND CATS!", you get a couple odd glances, but from our conversations, I am sure you are not too unused to them, especially around pencils. :P
Hiding collars is easier than I have implied, they may be ridiculously hard to hide round your neck, but you can wear it round your arm or something to gain confidence. Try above the elbow, worked for me.
As for the addiction, probably a strong word. It is nothing like a drug or smoking or something like that. I find mine to be more of a safety blanket type thing; it makes me feel better in myself when I have it on, but I am not too averse to not having it. I don't like being without it, but I could bin it and feel as if I was wearing it when I have adjusted back in a few days; at least in an emotional sense, not tactile. When I do forget to put it back on after a shower, I feel a bit unusual, not quite as happy, but as I say, I could go without it, just would rather not.

As for uni, might be a good idea, but people won't mind too much anyway, or so I experienced. I was lucky by the sound of it, but I'm sure most people wouldn't give a flying fig to be honest. As I said to you, they don't need to know about furryism if you think they will react adversely. There are other explanations, E.G. the one people make up about me, which annoys me slightly, but I CBA to dispute: Goth. There are many more, just try and find one you don't mind as a backup if you feel unready to come out all the way about it.

TL;DR, There are ways around it. All of it. Just find the way that is right for you.
