Post and Talk about your Collars! And why you wear one

YES! I just got my first collar! My dog and I walked down to the pet store, and I got a collar. I'll post pictures 

Apperantly they won't post. I'm going to change my avatar into my tags though And they're on my DeviantArt, so the thingy underneath my profile on the side thing will take you straight there.

Someone just came to the door and I panicked and took it off 

I feel so comfortable in it..so natural. I think I scared my girlfriend with it because I asked if I could put her name on the back and her phone number, and she said it was too possessive..I feel bad now *whines and sits in the corner* I didn't mean to offend her or anything 

But yeah. It feels pretty comfortable, not sure what it's made of. When I went to go get my collar, it really helped to have my dog with me, and I told the lady that I had another dog who was on vacation with a 15" neck. So! I apperantly have a fictional mutt who is eight years old..I felt like such a good liar. It also fits with my fursona.

It feels so weird posting pictures of myself in human form..

Oh my, I can't wait until Sytex comes to visit. When he does, one of the things we're going to do is go shopping and get collars. c: I have one already, but it's a cheap dollarstore one, LOL. Surprisingly though, it's actually very comfy. But I'd still like a nicer one, which I plan to get when Sytex comes to visit. c:


By the way, Sytex and I both find we like collars because wearing them is comforting, makes you feel secure. Anyone else feel this way?

And yes, I recently have gotten into the idea of obtaining a collar. Though it's a mix of my furry side and my Goth and my Punk side; seeing as I'm getting cuffs as well. But the collar itself always has felt like a secure item... Something about it, even though I know it doesn't protect me from too much, really, makes me feel safer and less exposed. I don't have issues without one, but it just adds that sensation of security.

yeah....mine makes mefeel safer....but that might be because me and my cousin were play fighting and he was barefoot and he kicked me in the neck and hurt his foot(it ish spiked)

It feels..natural. Comforting. And yeah, I guess safe. I feel like I belong. I wore it to work the past couple days, and I had people compliment it. Mostly, they asked why I was wearing a dog collar, and I just told them it was to feel closer to my dogs, and especially Charlie, my old dog that died in my fathers care (so a drug house.) He was hit by a car. Then, my dog Jorja, my current black lab was born and rescued from a drug house, and I like to think they have the same soul that protected me  It makes a good story. But that's probably why I associate safety with it too.

As for me, I have to agree, I dunno, I feel better with my collar than without but the reason I'm not currently aware of.

Tell Sytex I said hi, and yeah wearing collars is comforting and fun to wear, because it's so comfy. And it looks cool too.

i have three collars 1 from hot topic, one i "barrowed" from my dog statue (i put it back) and 1 from Pawstar.com. i like the pawstar one because it is a 2" leather collar. i will try to get pic of it on my profile.

Im sad my schools dress code specificaly says no collars but ill still sometimes wear mine around my ankle

my school dress code says the same thing and my folks don't like me wearing it too. oh well when i move out in a few years i will wear it a lot
