Whooo, this seems cool!
I don't have a collar yet, but I remember me and my good buddy who is also a huge furry were looking at ones on Amazon longingly. He wanted one for a cat, as his fursona is a lion-type thing, but we couldn't find one as he is a big man and cats are tiny. At the time, we didn't really have the money to buy them. But he's going to be visiting me soon, and I figure that'll be the PERFECT way to get a collar. Just going to a Petmart or Wal-Mart or something. (I also need to pick up an actual collar for an actual pet there too, so it'll be good for that as well.)
When I get one though, I'm probably going to be super happy just to wear it. Though I doubt I'll wear it around my family... it'd likely attract their attention. Even me wearing normal clothes gets criticism out of them. Random people though? Sure, why not? I don't mind. Most of them will probably be too timid to even say anything about it anyway. The reason I'll be buying one for myself is because dogs are domesticated animals, and well, collars are highly associated with them. To me, getting a collar is a great way to feel like an animal without attracting TOO much attention in public like ears, a tail, or a fursuit would. (Not that I don't want those either. I SO do.)
Thanks for the guide though, that was nice.
And a good reminder to get one!
