Pizza sandwiches
« on: July 17, 2011, 05:22:26 AM »
My family always made these sandwiches while camping, and they're quite good. Same concept as grilled cheese, but with pizza filling instead. ^_^

Ingredients:
- Bread
- Butter
- Pizza sauce (can be bought in a can/jar)
- Shredded Mozzarella cheese
- Sliced pepperoni, hamburger meat, and/or any other kind of pizza toppings you like

1. Take out two slices of bread, and butter one side of each.
2. On the un-buttered side of one slice, place your pizza toppings. A couple spoonfuls of pizza sauce; mozzarella cheese; then the other toppings you want. You may have to experiment with the amount of each topping to put on the sandwich. Some people like more sauce and less cheese, I personally like less sauce and more cheese.
3. Close the sandwich with the other piece of bread (buttered side facing out), and place the sandwich on any kind of flat skillet or pan on the stove.
4. Let one side of the sandwich cook for a couple minutes until it is a golden brown. (Lift or flip the sandwich to check it.)
5. Flip the sandwich over and let the other side cook for a couple minutes until it is golden brown as well.
6. Put the sandwich on your plate, give it a minute to cool, and eat!

It's a toasty warm sandwich with melty cheesey pizza goodness inside. Yum~ ^^
