The Mannisleb drifted around in a low orbit around Taraaj, circling the planet like a vulture circling a carcass. and at the last moment, broke away from its orbit towards the outer planets. the solar collection panels retracted with a hissing sound as their automated hydrolics went into action. Heinrech sat in the command chair on the empty bridge, punching in numbers on a basic calculator of his own design. after finishing his calculation, a press of a button and an adjustment of 2 dials, the engines deep inside the ship powered down, letting the ship drift on its own momentum. with this set, Heinrech left his seat to the stairs, quickly descending into the hanger, a room where fighters or scout craft would be stored, but instead had been converted into a workshop. Heinrech payed no attention to the things he knocked of tables and dislodged from shelves as he made for the rear of the room. there lay the "work harness", a reinforced vest covered in pockets and straps containing tools, and a small battery on the back, providing power to its electronic components. He swiftly threw it on, and ran back up to the bridge. A sound ahead alerted him. He peered around the corner into the bridge, and saw them. spae rats. for monthes after the ships construction, he had suspected the ship to have a few. now they were gathered on the bridge, 12 of them. they were gnawing wires, presssing button, and generally causing havoc. in a single swift move, Heinrech left into the center of the room. the rats turned to flee, but were shocked to death by the "vermain-stopper V1.4", a varient on a portable tesla cannon. after cleaning up, He could see that he was now extremly off course. oh well. its not tlike the destination was specific.but now, the rudders were faceing oppisite ways, which had sent the Mannisleb spinning in a circle. it was quickly corrected, but cost a good deal of engine power, and being rather far from another sun, power was somthing to be conserved. the engines fired, and the Mannisleb returned to its path.
