Do you know any furries in real life?

Do you know any furries in real life? How did you meat them? Are they on any furry community sites such as Fur Affinity (Forums)? Do they have a fursona? Anything else you want to add.

I only know one furry in real life, and that is my best friend Walter from high school.

I met him in 2008 in 11th grade. He was over at my lunch table one day talking to one of my friends, and I saw him wearing a Legend of Zelda medallion. I asked him about it, then we started talking about video games and stuff, and our friendship just kept building up from there.

One day a few years later when I was on his FaceBook I saw an NSFW picture of a female rabbit in his photos, and I told him the next day about it because I was sure it was an accident, surely it was and he removed it when he got home. I never knew about furries until after I graduated high school June 23rd, 2010, so having more knowledge on furs, I asked him about it over a YouTube private message one day a few months ago after remembering that picture I saw saying "Hey Walter, are you a furry?" and he responded "y yes i am". I was really happy finding this out.

He does not have a fursona but he said he would want to be a fox/cat/dragon hybrid or just a plain fox, and I also got him to sign up on FA, but he forgot his login information for it.

So, he's my only real life furry friend currently. I would love to meet more furs, but I live a very non-social life; it's strictly on the internet only, so chances of this happening are probably very slim.

One moved away across the country before I realized I also was a furry, and the other one is my ex-boyfriend who became a furry during the time the painful breakup process was slowly going on. He was cheating on me. Lucky me, eh? So technically I know, or knew, 2. But there are none I can hang out with. Unfortunately where I live (Arkansas) happens to be the most furry-deserted place in the United States. The closest regular con I know of is in Texas.

In Germany it seems to be a lot easier to meet other Furries. I know really a lot Furs in Real Life. Maybe it is because I visit Conventions regularly. Like for example Eurofurence or Mephit Mini Con. I plan to visit ConFuzzled next year too. Then there are a lot smaller cons or better meetings every month. I even organize such meetings on my own, like a meetings of drawing Furs next week for a little creative round or Fursuitwalks. Every month there is a meeting of Furs which go out for Dinner in a town near by. We are always around 10~ people then. My best friend is a Fur and some other very close friends are Furs too.

I am a very social person and love to meet new persons so I travel a lot and invite a lot

I've met 3 that I know are more or less furries.

First one I met on a local furry forum, he lives in the same city as me, tho we only met once. As far as I know, he isn't exactly a furry anymore tho, at the time we met he was a wolf I believe, but now he's a neko I believe.

Second one is my ex which I met on here, he lives about 2-3 hours from me. Yet, he isn't a furry either, he used to be an otter, but now he's kinda just a "regular" human with a, to some degree, interest in the fandom and as well a few friends that are furries.

And the third, most recent one is a Lynx that lives in the same city as me as well. Yet we only met once.

I've seen a few on campus, but whenever I do see them my friends are near me, and they being 4chan fanatics makes them quite anti-furry, so I never get the chance to approach them.
The only reason my friends don't hark on me is because I'm quite in the closet about it myself.

Maybe someday I'll get the courage to say a little hi.

I have found a furry on Pounced.com that lives in the same area as my step-brother does, meaning this guy is only about 10 minutes or so away from me. I messaged him on FA about it and we thought it was cool.

Haha damn that must suck. I'd hate that so much. My step-brother is one of the 4chan anti-furs, so I always stayed closeted around him knowing how much he thought they were "weird" and "eww", but eventually he found out by seeing my Skype avatar which was my SL furry avatar picture, he asked me about "why is your avatar an animal?", I told him I was a furry, and as I prepared for the worst, surprisingly he didn't blow up he just responded "yeah I figured" "I never understood why people liked those things". Now he's even been on Second Life hanging around with me and my furry friends and even has a black/red fox fursuit of his own in the game.  So like I don't get why he's suddenly ok with it all now after finding out that I am one knowing how much he used to dislike them.

I'm only about twenty minutes away from Denver so yeah we get furs from all over

I don't know any in real life though my bestfriend(just moved away) takes a interest in them. I've tried looking up to see if there are any meetings in TN around my location, none. =(
