Flying demon zombies, and crawlers. It's pretty mundane to me . Kinda reminds me of amnesia a little. Reading the way you walked in Everflame 2 was scarier though.


 No if you really want to freak someone out, you must turn them inside out so you see their bones around the meat. Have their skin be torn off and used as clothing. Their own spines as some kind of weapon. And make them breath fire. Give them the ability to SPRINT at their prey in the most awkward manner and you will have people's pants getting wetter than water.

now now, disparaging someone's writing especially when it's utterly improvised without any real chance to rewrite doesn't really help much.

Also it's my personal opinion that gory visuals does not equal horror. It's like Dead Space. It's all loud and shouty with blood and guts and splashy squishiness and things running around with their arms in the air going "BE AFRAID! BE AFRAAAAAAIIID!" accompanied by wiggly fingered spooky jazz hands; simply because it doesn't know how to scare people, so it shoves it all in your face

An old man smiling at you from across a park can be scarier... if it's done right.

Fear is a feeling after all, so you gotta make it feel right, not look right or sound right, but FEEL right.

So in my opinion both you and Entaru are doing it wrong but then as with all opinions, it's all absurdly subjective and nobody's got the right answer.

Well, I am no master of fear, but I have seen things that had made a lot of disgusting, and horrifying things mundane .

Deadspace wasn't scary though... it had things popping out of vents that were only 2 feet deep in the light, down a hallway.

Amnesia, System Shock, Eternal Darkness, Penumdrum, Nero walking in a corpse in Everflame 2, and ocelots frighten me.

Well, you have to realize that this isn't the adult thread and I can't get away with as much before a mod clubs me over the head.  I'm not going too much for the horror aspect this time as I am for a demon lord of sorrow.  This is a creature who normally does everything himself and has been weakened severely.  He's still a force to be reckoned with but he needs to keep a wall of creatures around him until he can grow to full strength again.  He needs to flaunt what little power he has to scare away anything that threatens him until then.
 
Think of this as a cocoon state for the old Nero you know.
