Dim Lane puffed and shook his head at Talin.
"A hundred years left and you're so eager to cut it short," he said as Talin hopped down from the tree and began his run. "I swear he's no good for you," he said to Aria, andlooked over at the city that was bathed in daylight yet still smothered in an ethereal shadow. "And don't talk," he said and looked to the girl. "You'll lose your voice just as you gained it." He smiled a little and walked out to the edge of the tree house looking down and around. "I don't suppose this place is particularly sturdy against angry god attacks." He said and pushed against the door frame as though testing it, then gave a little laugh to Aria. "I guess archeology will have to wait. We can just go back to the city and tell the Queen what's happened." He moved to Aria and put a wing around her shoulders. "And don't worry, we don't have to stay there... not that they'd let us."
Akela nodded at the young girl and took her hand, rushing through the temple and out into the undercity, heading above ground toward the gate. "Tell me Roxy, how long have you been connected to this hyena?" she asked as she hurried Listy along behind her, even has the shadow of an evil voice rippled through the air.
Aman stood hunched beside Nero while the crowd watched in awe and fear. They cowered and their bodies churned. Aman was the first to drop to the ground as he dug his own claws into his skin, tearing at his stomach as black ooze spilled out with his innards, and yet he lived, crawling and smiling. The crowd were not so pleased, as pain seared through the minds while they beheld such a demon, black vomit spilling in the streets.
While Feuilly and Viriathus sat upon the rock, the grass quivered as the light breeze pulled it and a slight rumble tumbled through the ground. The rumble grew, not an earthquake but a shifting in the soil, something moving and stretching beneath them.
Another shriek could be heard, muffled by a paw as the door shuddered open by the force of the blast.
"Leo!" The General marched over to him and snatched the pistol from his hand. "What the hell are you doing?" She said and looked to the door burst and splintered into a darkened room. "It's not a toy and you don't use it around screaming civilians." She stuffed the pistol into her pocket, her own one nestled in the other side. "What if they were behind this door?" She said, and kicked it open a little more, letting the light of the corridor lamps spill in. Chunks of wood had spilled across the floor among a tight pack of shelves covered in containers and rocks. "Hello?" she asked into the dark room, and she peered through the gap between the door and frame. Tables were piled at the back. "Anybody here?" Nobody answered.
Neesa tracked the arrow with her ears, and reached down, grabbing a rock. She leapt up the alley wall and clambered to the roof, and in one smooth movement jumped and shot the stone at the figure, knocking him back off the roof. As she dropped back down, she pushed off the roof and landed back into the alley in an instant. Without a word she pushed Yenchi out the way and began kicking at the dirt at the house on the left. The ground crumbled and an tunnel was revealed, down under the building. She put her arm around Imshi and helped her up. "In you go and keep going until the dirt wall at the end."
