dk oO. I know they are related so they are probaly the same family but not Genus. I guess I should of put the family.
Well, shortly said, 'Canine' refers to the family/subfamily name rather than the genus.
And as said in earlier post, while the genus 'Vulpes' might hold the most 'true' foxes, there are in fact quite a few breeds outside of said genus that are considered foxes, such as the 'Canis simensis' which was just recently renamed from fox to the 'Ethiopian wolf', yet it's still in some cases referred to as a fox.
