As you may have read in the announcement about the forum upgrade, we have a new percentage-based warning system on the forum to ensure the rules are upheld.
It's fairly straightforward. Everyone starts off with a 0% warning level. Every time you break a rule - any rule - a percentage is added to your level. How much is added depends on the severity of what you've done.
At certain points down the line, your percentage will determine your Warning Status. The higher you go, the more restrictions there will be on your account. The first level is Watched (similar to what used to be Warned), which is a simply a warning to change your behavior before things get worse. The second level is Moderated, which means all of your posts will need to be approved by a staff member before they are sent through to the forum. The third level is Muted, which means you will not be able to post during the time the status remains in place. Should anyone reach a full 100% warning level, it will result in a temporary or permanent ban.
Of course, there's no need to worry if you happen to slip up on things once in a while. Each day you go without breaking the rules your percentage will decrease a little bit until it's back down to 0%. Minor offenses will be gone within a day or two.
If at any time you want to know why your percentage is at the level it's at, you can access your own warning log by going to your Profile and then clicking on the percentage number that's there. (This number will not show up when your level is at 0%.) All warnings placed on you will be listed, along with the reasons why.
All in all, the new system leaves less room for error or variances than the old system did. It ought to make things easier for both the staff and the rest of the forum.
