Some people do use real tails (obtained legally and humanely), but faux fur tends to be more common in the fandom. It's a lot easier to customize a faux fur tail, and some faux fur material is really nice and soft.

real fur tails are quite controversial to some...I do know a RL fur who owns a fox tail containing real fox fur

I'm considering making a tail, but having a difficult time finding some good tutorials for the construction.


Admittedly, I fell in love with a beautiful one on Etsy.  (You can see the GORGEOUS tail here.)


Does anyone have any tips on how to go about making something like that?  Or are there good tutorials for less amazing tails (to start out on) about that I'm missing?

My sister picked one up from Hot Topic, but those tails are all pretty cheaply-made.

i asked for a tail and ears set from pawstar for x-mas but my mom was short on money, wich i understand so i supose ill have to wait till july for my friend to go to anime cons so she can pick one up for me  :P
