"Its hooves are 10 times harder than diamonds. It can trample anything completely flat within moments." -Pokemon Red/Blue Ponyta Pokedex entry.

Pure diamond has a hardness value of about 167 GPa (gigapascals). Synthetically-produced "hyperdiamond" has a hardness value of 310 GPa at the most, and is the hardest material known. The hooves of a Ponyta would have a hardness of 1,670 GPa, making them over five times harder than hyperdiamond.

the american version of santa clause came from the german christ child, who would leave gifts for the children and leave a lock of hair on the tree to prove he was there- he must grow his hair out all year!

The origins of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer go back to 1939 when Robert L. May wrote a story based around this character although at the time, it had a secret drink-related message hence the fact that Rudolph's nose is red!
Nevertheless, the song that shares the story's title didn't exist until 1948 especially if Gene Autry was the first artist to record it. And here it is. Enjoy!:

The mermaid on the Starbucks logo is actually referencing the character Starbuck from Moby Dick.

In Super Mario Bros, the sound that occurs when Mario is damaged by an enemy is the same sound that occurs when entering a pipe.

I'm sorry, but the Saturn V was never a ballistic missile. It was designed to go to the moon, built to go to the moon, and flew to the moon (at least the Command module and the Lunar Lander parts of it).

Another good fact about the Saturn V was that it was designed by German Engineers that worked on creating ballistic missiles for the Nazis.

Queen Victoria was scared of train travel so she insisted that the train traveled no faster than 40 mph. If that wasn't enough, she also had communication with her driver so when she wanted to move to another carriage or to another part of the carriage, she would remind the driver to stop the train. As for Victoria's funeral train, it was against her will in the sense that it traveled over 40 mph.
When King Edward VII took to the throne, he wanted no communication on his train at all.

yes but the base of it is used for a nuclear weapons platform, so essentually the saturn V is a 'nuclear missle'

PM about it, if anyone wans to hear a simple history of NASA's key launch vehicles, I'll put it here.

Anyway, Apparently Project Mercury-Redstone used three different missiles as launch platforms.

Something I learned from a little more research on the Saturn V
