mmmm....i haz to search that now, but no it is really just any anthro in general, and by speculation it wouldn't just be an adaptation it would more that likely be a genetic alteration.

My favorite fur? My new online mate Callan  :D ! What would I do if I saw him or his fursona in real life? I'd jump into his arms, hug and kiss him, and probably cry on his shoulder a bit because I'm so happy to see him  XD .

I will try to hug it, if its my fursona, well I don't know since I'm a captain of a band of air pirates. If its another fursona (a furr that I like) I will like it and try to know where it came from. 
 
Its hard to say how you will react if you saw you're furry self, since there a 99.9% chance that it will never happend.  :S

Depends on the character (I have many favorites):

My Fursona: I'd probably greet him cordially like I do with anyone I meet. I'd then start to talk to him about other universes and the like, then I'd probably join him in his travels after getting a little bit more combat training.

Other OCs (Joshua Tiger): *blushes* I really don't think I could say that here...

Character's from Entertainment (Derpy Hooves): Well, first I'd take a couple of pictures, for proof that this actually happened. Then I would interview her, asking her a few questions regarding her home. Then... I really don't know... Go get some coffee at Starbucks or something? I'd probably hang out with her often, that's for sure.
