Oh...crap...! Jessica nearly jumped out of her fur. She'd been spotted! She could've sworn she'd picked a great hiding place behind a tall, dusty old stone pillar. Well, so much for reconnaissance...quickly, she had to think of something...! Think, Jessica, think...what's the one thing that always gets you out of trouble??

...That's it! Jess, you're a genius!

Slowly, the fox poked her head out from behind the pillar, her eyes settling first on Shadis, the angry-looking man that had shouted at her. The first thing he would probably notice would be the tears welling up in her eyes as she began to sob uncontrollably.

"Oh please, help! I-I'm lost!" she sniffed, wiping a tear away with her sleeve. "I was in bed, and then...and then I woke up in this scary temple! And there are monsters and traps everywhere and...and...I thought I was gonna die..!"

And with that, she dropped to her knees dramatically, covering her face with her hands as the waterworks continued. Once or twice, she subtly opened one eye in the hopes of seeing a favourable reaction from Shadis or his companions. Surely they couldn't resist from helping a poor, crying, defenseless girl, right??

Danny knelt down in near her forcing Jessica's head up a bit.  "I wouldn't suggest navigating back if you're lost.  We would like your name though.  Better to address you," she said.  Blood stained the areas Danny touched, standing out against Jessica's fur.
 
Cassandra stood away from the group, vaguely interested in the newcomer.

[Cifero Windtail]

Joseph snorts humorously.
"Really?" he said. "That's the best lie you can come up with? Be serious... you're not lost."

[Kaya]

Cassandra snorts "shut up and save it for those who believe you grave robber. Nice cart. Bet you have some nice things in it..." she yawns, staying back.

[Cifero Windtail]

"Actually," Joseph said, "the better question would be... how did you get this far unscathed?"

[Wocky]

Jessica brought her hands away from her face slightly, more than a little surprised - and irritated - that no one seemed to be falling for it. Still, she kept her sad face up nontheless. "Gr...grave robber? I'm not a grave robber! I'm just..."

Then Joseph hit her with his probing question. Oops...she hadn't thought of that. "I'm uh...I'm...well I just ran! And threw some potions when I needed to...I think I was just really lucky! I've always been lucky..." she looked back at her cart as she said this.

Well, that last part was true at least. Though her luck wasn't through natural means.

*DE buffs his wings and strides over to jessica*
 
DE leveles his spear at jessica's throat...."Speak, and speak quickly!"....."Why are you here? iv never seen you on this island before! and iv lived here nearly a decade!"
 
.....*DE tries to control the sudden flood of chemicals into his system, his vision begins to turn blue again....*

Danny grabbed his spear and stood up pushing it away from Jessica.  "That's enough everyone!  We don't need another fight.  If she's an enemy, we'll know it soon enough.  If not, we get another ally.  Girl, explain."

[Wocky]

(She hadn't given her name just yet )

Jessica sweatdropped nervously as the spear was shoved up to her throat. "W-wait! My name's Jessica!" she raised her hands as if to say 'don't shoot'. "You don't wanna hurt me, I can help, okay?!"

She breathed a sigh of relief when Cassandra knocked the spear away. She'd stopped crying rather quickly, her expression exchanged with one of a sort of anxious enthusiasm. She'd somewhat 'dropped the act' by now, but she was still conveniently avoiding their questions. "Look..." she turned around, unhooking the cart from her belt, and stooped down into the cart to grasp the box that held the glowing multicoloured lights. She flipped the catch and opened the box...

Inside, was what looked to be dozens of glass vials full of substances of every colour of the rainbow, all glowing vibrantly. "See? Potions! I've got lotsa these! An adventuring party always needs potions, right??"

Oh dear...this wasn't going so well. But on the other hand...these could be people to stick around with for a while. They'd probably make good body guards. Not to mention, she might be able to sell something!

[Cifero Windtail]

"Um... I wasn't planning on fighting, actually," Joseph said. "But I just realized that that question was in general, sooo never mind."

[Shadis]

*Shadis sheaths his swords and his expression calms when he figures she wasn't a threat or an enemy. He was never mad, just startled.* "At ease adventurers, she is not an enemy. I don't beileve the "appeared here" act, but I do beileve the lost explorer act. She is no more a resident here then we are. Let's just cut to the chase, as I sense more creatures approaching from far behind. I am Shadis, and these fine folks and I are treasure hunters. We have been sent here to reclaim- err, we are on a mission. That is all you need to know. We have need of gaining access to the bottom of this dungeon. You have a number of potions and many of them will be of great help to us. If my companions agree to it, you may travel with us and lend your potions to us for assistance. I will be willing to pay out of my own pocket if you help us. In exchange, we can all leave here happy, alive, and rich. If not, then please atleast stand aside. More hostilities are approaching and we haven't the time to get aquanted. What say you, mates?"
 
[Shadis is asking the group if they are willing to travel with Jessica in the dungeon. The incoming creatures will not approach us for awhile, so no starting a fight just yet.]

[Leiton]

Mawz smirked. "As long as she isn't getting any of my pay," He looked over at her and gave her a stern look "and she doesn't do anything stupid and nearly kill me."
He leaned back against the wall and crossed his arms. "And I'm not your mate."

[Shadis]

*Shadis stares blankly at Maws* "You know, we could use you as bait so that the creatures are too busy ripping you apart to bother with us, mate." *The last word has a very sarcastic tone to it.*

[Cifero Windtail]

"Well, I'm all for her joining," Joseph said. "But once again, I must point out that I am NOT a treasure hunter; I just like adventure."

[Shadis]

*I roll my eyes.* "Okay, adventurer."
