Now just for PIPA to lose support...I'm worried that people will begin to back down now that the day of online-protesting is over. Hopefully everyone realizes that PIPA is still active. Luckily one of my Florida senators has already detracted his support for PIPA, I hope others will do the same. SOPA isn't the only problem.
I had the misfortune of sitting in class today-asking people what they thought about it-and all I really heard in response was "eh, you wouldn't want your copyrighted work stolen would you? The government wouldn't abuse its power, no one would abuse it, I mean cmon!"
I wish people could understand that this legislation is so much more encompassing than what they have been lead to believe. As was pointed out earlier, one complaint, and BAM, the offending site is blocked-no due process. Which is one of the key problems I see here, the lack of due process.
Hope this messy piece of legislation gets sorted out properly...
