Well, it looks like Taboo is going to have another Furry episode. How they portray this guy we will just have to see. ...I think his suit is kind of cute, though.

Honestly, I refuse to watch it. Especially around my parents. Anyone have parents who respect furries? Maybe they would be better suited to watching it and telling how they portray them this time. Because my parents HATE furries and constantly make fun of me for being one.

But I hear the first one wasn't TOO harsh on them, maybe this one won't be too bad either.

Just finished watching one of the furry episodes of Taboo, and actually, it wasn't half bad.
If my dad found out I was a furry, he'd probably freak out, but my mom on the other hand... She's a bit (Massive sarcasm quotes. She's beyond xD) more open-minded, and would prolly be okay with it  ^_^

Wait... Another one? The video I just watched was an episode that aired exactly two weeks ago...

I find the bad publicity hilarious. You can't be in this fandom without being able to take things with a grain of salt. I mean, the furry rage threads on 4chan was the first place I even heard of furries, which is the holy grail of bad furry publicity. There's worse things in the world to worry about and get mad over, a TV show is nothing.

Again, I think Taboo has had multiple Furry episodes. But to be honest, at least they're not CSI.

The guy I saw in the commercial had a really cute costume. I normally don't like fursuits as they usually look creepy. ...But wasn't there another one? A girl who happened to wear a fursuit?

There was an episode of My Strange Addiction that had a girl who was "addicted" to wearing her fursuit. It, again, was not NEARLY as bad as the CSI episode (I couldn't make it half-way through the five minute piece they had on youtube....)

Ah, I guess I got the two shows mixed up.

Sorry, I just find that getting mad over TV shows to be trivial when there's so many real things in the world to get upset over.
To be honest I've never been offended by bad furry portrayals or furry rage images, I even laugh at some.
Sure, it gives the general public a screwed image of what furries are, but furry is just a small part of who I am. If someone has a bad image of furries that's fine, I have a lot more to offer than furry. You can't change the thoughts of everyone in the world, and to be honest good furry portrayals would be considered boring TV since there's no drama or anything to laugh at. It's like that with a lot of groups, no one is interested if a group is just doing good or normal things, they only want to see the bad side of everything. Is it wrong? Perhaps. Is it entertaining? Sure, and in television that's all that matters.

No one's mad, but to be honest: Offending certain groups, badly portraying them, as well as other things like animals dying a gruesome death. I don't find that entertaining. And while it's true that you can add drama to a certain group and not have it be offensive, most shows do it at the expense of said group while refusing to point out the good sides, instead of having disputes between furries and non furries while coming to an understanding that furries aren't so bad in the end.

I'm assuming this was the program with nuka kitty. It was more of a this is a furry sort of show rather than a show about how we are all freaks. Even when they mentioned the "dark side" of furry it was pretty tame.

I don't know why but some members of the fandom cause more drama than the programs themselves, I mean nuka kitty was apparently getting abuse BEFORE the show even aired.

I watched both episodes of these shows that featured furries and I can honestly say...it made me want to be even more of a furry. What those four on Taboo were doing looked super fun and playful; it didn't make me think negatively about the fandom at all.

Not really a rant. I just wasn't sure where to put this topic.

Can somebody posts links to both of those Taboo episodes? I can not seem to find the first one anywhere...

Heres the Nuka kitty one.

National Geographic Taboo - Furries (Full) [HD]

Its not an 100% accurate portral of the fandom though, but these things rarely are.

I saw the Nuka episode. I was wondering how the first one was. I'm kind of interested in it now :P

I'm beginning to wonder if there was one before that... But Nuka was aired on January 3rd, 2012... Has there been one since then?
