There aren't many pictures running around, however I can give you an idea through description and what pictures I did find.

Well to do men and children usually wore high necked shirts, high waisted pants that stopped at the knee, high socks, and low shoes.  They also usually wore top hats.
 
Poorer boys usually wore trousers and loose shirts.  Again, There are few pictures for boys than girls.

Name: Tucker
Species: Beagle
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Appearance: Slim built, Tucker wears a white high collar shirt, under a green short jacket, and also wears light brown trousers and cap. A black chain design tattoo, wraps around his neck although he tries to hide it under his collar.
History: Tucker stood out from his sibling as a nobody. He didn't care of what others think or did. He never had to express his feelings to others. Will he learn? After Tucker and his siblings went their own ways, Tucker found a crystal lying on the ground that seemed to give off energy. As soon as he touched the crystal he immediately fused with it. He passed out as they became one. When he awoken, a burning sensation on his neck area where the tattoo appeared.
Fighting style: perfers long ranged tactics (will go to hand to hand if needs to), magic.
 
(Jackal can use close range sneaky magic , If I can change it please till he recovers that sword.)

It'd be preferable to have him learn it, but sure.  It wouldn't make much sense to have him not use it when it would have helped.

Like with chanted spells?  It'd probably take a fair amount of time to chant a spell as opposed to a sword.

Cif, please don't go into this again.  You asked me to change it before because you said it was a sword.  Now your saying it's a knife.  In the roleplay, you said both.  Just please pick one.

Well... okay, knife. The one that belonged to his father. He still has his own knife and the sword, but he prefers using his father's knife in combat and is a bit saddened by its loss. He can still fight like before, but because of the loss, he can't fight as well because of the drop in his morale.

*sighs* well can't say this is a generic story, after al the hero's are a lizard swordsman with nothing on the line either way, a poor kid who mainly wants his fathers blade back and possibly a stranger no one really knows if loao joins the good side.......sounds like  team i wouldn't want to be counting on to save me and i'm one of them

Well this is how I see the story:
Jackal actually likes Rachel, but he never talk to her directly. So he puts on the tough guy personality since a street rat like himself, has to adapted this in order to survive. After learning Rachel getting kidnapped, and  losing his father's weapon. Jackal must find a way to save her, but Jackal doesn't think he could do it alone. Jackal lies to the lizard sword man to convince  him to join his journey to retrieve his father's knife, when in reality he trying to save the one he loves, Rachel, but his tough attitude makes him hold in the truth. And the cursed magician Joao, will also help along the way.

(Sorry if I just spoiled it. And FYI the story doesn't have to keep following this direct route.)
