Cif, I hate to keep addressing you, but something's turned up in the roleplay we need to straighten out.
For about three to five of your posts in a row, as well as others, you've contradicted yourself about the amount of training, practice, and overall skill you have with that sword. Very little makes sense in the current senario and with the background of your character. I need an explanation for all of it.
"Jackal shook his head. "No thank you, I'm not that hungry." He gently drew his knees up to his chest and rested his head on them. "Well, to tell you the truth, I don't really know how to use that sword well anyway. I just carry it around because... well, because it's something my dad touched... something he used." He looked up at Max. "Usually, I just use my dagger or the rapier that I got as a parting gift from the Spanish sword-master I trained under." He grinned. "He was one heck of a teacher... and a very chivalrous man. He helped me perfect my fighting style."" "I don't really know how to use that sword anyway." Later on, as I'll bring up, you say you DO know how to use it, and don't bother to explain. That's not the most pressing issue though, not here. This is: "
Usually, I just use my dagger or the rapier that I got as a parting gift from the Spanish sword-master I trained under." You said in your bio you are a street rat. Sword training, which is what a rapier is, takes time (Many, Many YEARS), money, patience, strength, and to have a master, connections. A) You are sixteen. Sword training for knights, people training under a master, took from age seven to their early thirties. You would not be done with training. It would not be a parting gift if you aren't done.
You are a street rat. Money should be an issue for FOOD. A sword master is not top priority, and should VERY low on the list. You would have to either live with them, have a job AND live with them, or have a job, family, AND live with them. As you never said anything of living with them, I assume you didn't. You don't have a job anymore. Family's not an option. Master swordsmen, minus Obi-Wan, don't work for free for many many MANY years.
C) Patience is not something I can say much of. But again, it takes patience to have a job. You have mentions having a job, I admit, but it's implied in the past.
D) This goes back to food. You need a proper diet to be strong enough to weild a sword. You need a proper diet to fight period, at least convincingly. You are, again, a street rat. Most of the characters are. That means a proper diet doesn't always exist. Physical strength relies on a properly fed and trained.
E) I'll be lenient on the connections thing. It's not nearly as pressing as those issues. Did your mother or father know someone? If you can properly answer this, most of the other things fall into place. It would beg the question why you'd leave though.
Cif, please. Do a bit of research before you drop this on us. As for contradicting...
"Well, to tell you the truth, I don't really know how to use that sword well anyway." You acted rather, OOC, capable before.
"Usually, I just use my dagger or the rapier that I got as a parting gift from the Spanish sword-master I trained under." He grinned. "He was one heck of a teacher... and a very chivalrous man. He helped me perfect my fighting style." Oh? The problems with the teacher are listed above. And if you usually use these, why have they been COMPLETELY absent in bio and roleplay till it was convenient? I told you before. If you don't have it, don't add it without proper introduction. Danny doesn't have a gun, I wouldn't have her grab one from her bag with no explanation of where she got it and how she knows to use it. "Oh, I never said I couldn't use it," Yes you did. You said you
"can't actually use it anyway". I shouldn't have to tell you this. "I'm actually rather good with it." Look above. THOSE ARE YOUR WORDS. Two posts and you've managed to contradict yourself completely. Plus, a RAPIER master would not be able to teach you a SWORD. They are two fighting styles as different as bread and apple.
"I'm best with this though... rapier's second, the sword is the third." Wanna back that us with text from your bio, the roleplay before you dropped it on us, or the OOC?
"As for the rapier, I can get nearly the same feel in battle with it as when I use my knife." THIS IS THE VERY NEXT POST. CUT IT OUT AND CHOOSE. You can't be the best in everything Cif. It's called Godmodding, and while it hasn't been used AGAINST others, it's irritating and reads of you trying to eternally best everyone. Not only that, but it implies that, because we never knew of this before, LIKE THE MITHRIL SHIRT, you magically conjured it. It's called chevok's gun Cif. It's a way of keeping from Deus ex machina-ing things into a story and roleplay. Settle on one thing, deal with the consequences of your character's actions and the actions of others on you, and it will make you a better roleplayer in the end.
I really am tired of having to ask you to explain or tell me about things. I am. It's tiring for both parties and my nerves have already been destroyed by the cheese grater of sixteen hours in a car and having to do this so often. I'm not asking you to do everything different, I'm asking you not to continue doing things that I've warned you about, in this roleplay and others. A character must struggle to grow and learn. By giving your character everything it needs, not just to survive, but THRIVE AND OUTDO, Jackal has no need to learn or exercize any previous skills needed for living in a world where not everything is perfect. It doesn't fit the character you wrote in your bio.
As a note, your fighting style is hand to hand combat. You've yet to even attempt that. As Crono said a while back, use the technique you assigned. Don't make it a figure head to show that you're better than people think.
