Quote from: Wikipedia
Spam is the use of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately.
IE: forcing messages onto someone without considering.

The term 'spamming' has been overused for a long time. Especially when the receiver himself isn't considering the messenger's intentions, the term is often used very loosely.

You weren't spamming him, he simply failed at expressing himself correctly in order to tell you he was getting bored with the conversation.
Or he could just be polite and take it like a mature person would.

I can't magically tell you why either since I don't know what you are/were talking about.

Then the only thing I can think of is to let him be for a while and have patience. 2-3 posts at the most and then wait until he replies. If there is no reply, wait for another time.

Are you the type of person who starts asking "Hello? Are you there? Hi? SIGH." if people don't respond fast enough? If so, a lot of people multitask online and can't devote themselves entirely to one person, and it does get grating after awhile.

To know more about it, go find the beginning.
Look for "flying circus spam" on youtube.
It is quite literally, the origin of the word spam.

It might help if you posted a summary of the conversation, unless you aren't comfortable sharing it.

another thing it could be is him receiving the same message multiple times....you may only send it once but he may receive it 2 or more times....as that sometimes happens to me

In my clan I define spamming as this.

"The process of submitting frequent messages of the same or similar concept, meaning or idea in sequence in order to increase awareness of the general meaning of those messages"

It's done pretty well so far :P
