I big thing seems to be people being in character when they post is bad. Talking about sexual fetishes is bad (not because of age appropriateness) but because NOBODY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT YOU YA FREAK!
Speculation of celebrities who might be furry is lame... there seems to be an endless series of things that upset them.
There was a line in the FAQ something like "we got along fine before you got here and we'll get along after you've gone. You're not special and we don't need you".
I get they don't want to explain the nature of furry fandom to every new person but geez, maybe if they just said this is not for newbies and recommended somehere else...
Anyway, I think they might have lots of good things too just for fear of this being a rant, coz it's not.
Once example: there was a thing which said "we are all humans sitting at computers, we might pretend otherwise but we don't really believe otherwise". I think that can be viewed as a reminder to be considerate of people's emotions and frailties. And not to get TOO caught up in the rp that madness creeps in.
NOw that I've got my fursona fleshed out and I feel more confident in what aspects of furry are core and peripheral to me, I think I could enjoy the cut and thrust of a less friendly environment. But frankly if that's what I wanted I could have continued spending hours on atheist websites arguing in circles until I stabbed myself with a spoon.
