EXT- Frindorian air space – Denipious command ship.
(Wide distant view of Frindor’s surface.)
Frindor’s surface looked like a blood shot eye twisting and turning in the vast emptiness that is space.
(Camera moves slightly to the left as a Denipious ship flies passed.)
The ROAR of the Denipious command ship’s engines seems, from a distance, to be further irritating the fragile surface of the idle planet, Frindor.
(The camera watches the ship go passed until they are behind the engines, then the camera follows and glides along the side of the ship until at the helm.)
The DRONE of the Denipious ship’s engines slowly begins to fade as you see the surface of the Command ship. Cells are strewn all over the ship’s hull, like growths.
The helm of the command ship is very bulbous and looks very animal like.
Cut to:
(Camera enters the helm and moves through a busy bridge until arriving at the door of the Captain’s quarters)
The structured ant like manoeuvres that the grey suited Denipious crew moved in is quite precise.
The flashing lights of the many walls of buttons and screens glistened in a playful manner considering their dark importance.
The door for the captain’s quarters is a blackish blue and has the captain’s name inscribed on it.
INT- Captain Grimvist’s quarters.
(Wide angle view of the captain’s quarters)
Captain Grimvist
How long till we have the scans ready?
Corporal Slimuss
About three crelands. Sir!
Captain Grimvist
Too long, we shall have to assault before dawn, Corporal tell Field Marshal Murvick that the scans came through negative and that there is minimal activity on the surface of the moons and Frindor itself.
Corporal Slimuss
But sir...
Captain Grimvist
What!.. Lance Corporal?
Corporal Slimuss fidgets un-controllably.
Corporal Slimuss
Uhhmm... Nothing.
Captain Grimvist coughs loudly.
Corporal Slimuss
Nothing sir!
Captain Grimvist
Good Corporal...Good.
Captain Grimvist walks passed the Corporal and sniggers to himself.
Captain Grimvist
You may go.
Corporal Slimuss
Yes sir.
The Corporal turns to leave but is halted by the raised voice directing a question to him.
Captain Grimvist
Do you understand your circumstances, Corporal?
Corporal Slimuss
Yes sir.
Captain Grimvist
I believe it would be in your interests to remain quiet about our little...
Captain Grimvist turns to look at the quivering Corporal.
Captain Grimvist
...Chat.
Corporal Slimuss
Yes sir.
The corporal turns swiftly and leaves the Captain alone.
(Camera follows Slimuss until he passes through the door, then it returns to a close up on Captain Grimvist.)
Captain Grimvist
Hmmm...
Cut to:
EXT- Primary rebel base – Frindor.
(Camera circles the sandy rebel base)
The thousands of unorganised rebel troops scurry around the base like unwanted mice.
The sound of CHEERING echoes off the vast caves and chasms surrounding the Frindorian rebel base.
(The camera moves round and over to a table surrounded by men and women)
Vladnir
If we use the knowledge of the locals to draw in fire and create a diversion...
Mistress Serenity
Would that mean hiding in little holes like vermin?
Serenity laughs to herself.
Vladnir
No, it doesn’t. It means going out and picking at their attack force until they’re aggravated and send a splinter unit after us.
Mistress Serenity
So we are poking the limark with a stick and running away with our tail between our legs…
Vladnir jumps into Serenity crazed speech.
Vladnir
No Mistress Serenity, we will not be running we will be leading the unwary Denipious splinter squad into a trap.
All goes quiet as they wait for Serenity’s reply.
Mistress Serenity
Hmm... A trap. What kind of trap?
Vladnir
Well, Denipious splinter squads are given all of the best armour and weaponry the Denipious scientists can offer. So not only does the equipment get tested but these splinter squads tend to be able to take on a hell of a lot.
Admiral Vindren
So how do you suppose we defeat these elite troops?
(Camera moves down and back to accommodate the newly arrived Admiral)
Vladnir
What were those Limarks you were talking about Mistress Serenity?
Mistress Serenity
Ohhh no way, just no...
Serenity looks shocked and she speaks with a flurry of laughter and despair.
Admiral Vindren
Humour the man.
Admiral Vindren butted in and attempted to calm Serenity down.
Mistress Serenity
Ok Sir. The Limark is a large creature that lives in the great chasm about 20 mynrens south of our position.
The crowd move closer to hear what Serenity has to say.
Mistress Serenity
They have 12 legs and are golden yellow in colour. They also have dark brown markings down their sides and on their backs. Their jaws are about the same size as a Defiant tank turret...
The growing crowd gasps.
Mistress Serenity
And they attack with a ferocious speed. They are peaceful and will not attack unless threatened or intimidated... or maybe if their hungry. Why do you wish to know about them? Surely you do not wish to...
Vladnir
Yes… Yes I do.
Vladnir answers Serenity before she even had finished.
Mistress Serenity
You’re crazy!
Vladnir rushes from the crowd and glances back at Serenity with a child like grin.
(Camera moves slowly up and back while panning right to obtain a wide angle view from a slightly elevated position)
Mistress Serenity
This might work but you will need help. I am coming with you.
Vladnir
Ok, but we will need something quick to get out of here unnoticed.
Dak
That’s where I come in.
(Camera flashes to close up on the scruffy mechanic. Then switches back to previous camera)
Vladnir
And who are you?
Admiral Vindren
Dak is our head mechanic and a true natural with anything automated.
Dak
I have four of these.
(Camera flashes to dark metallic walled cave)
Dak smacks a large button on the back wall of the caves.
Vladnir
What exactly are ‘these’?
Dak
Dak takes a deep breath and speaks with an overpowering tone.
These, my friends are called…
Dak pauses and stutters as his voice becomes childlike and broken.
Well they don’t actually have a name yet…
Mistress Serenity breaks in.
Mistress Serenity
They do work right?
There was worry in her voice.
Admiral Vindren
Well, Dak’s machines are special, but if there is one thing his works do it is work.
Admiral Vindren smiled a smile that looked unearthly.
Vladnir
If you trust him, I will too.
Vladnir smiled back to Admiral Vindren with a nervous smile.
Mistress Serenity
Ugh… I wouldn’t miss this for the world.
Mistress Serenity giggles to herself. She then turns away from them and whispers to herself.
They mustn’t fail.
The site screwed the format, but if you guys still made your way to the end, I bow to you.
Any feedback would be stellar.
