"Come now, Kitane. Surely you remember your old hunting pal, Emerick." The man at the door says, staring at her. She shakes her head.
"I'm sorry, I don't remember anything from my past life. I-"
"Wait, did you say 'past life?'" He grunts, narrowing his eyes and sniffing the air around her. "what in the hell happened when you left?" He ponders, his thoughts buzzing now.
"I told you, I don't remember!" She says loudly, becoming quickly aggravated.
"Try gods dammit!" He yells, pinning her against the wall. "You have to try." He whispers. She tries to shove him away, but he doesn't budge. A low hiss erupts from her throat and she turns her gaze to the ground.
"I literally can't.." She mumbles. She could feel his nails digging into her arms. "****ing let me go!" She yells, nearly snapping at him. His eyes narrow, but he doesn't move.
"You're coming with me, Kitane." He whispers in her ear. She pulls back her head and slams hers into his forehead. He staggers back and she pops her neck.
"I'm not going anywhere with you, 'Emerick.' " She says, saying his name in a mocking way.
