Blinded In Chains

Atticus whispered, "admiring the trees my arse..." he walked into the forest and his night vision kicking in slightly, as he walked through the forest, scanning the area for any threats.

He laughs again and walks inside. Nothing jumps out or attacks Atticus, nothing lurking in the forest. Yet.

[Lokyar Brightmane]

There is a thump as something falls off something upstairs. A couple of seconds later, Lokyar falls through the ceiling.

"Oooh... What's going on? Why does my head hurt?" Lokyar said, covered in burns and cuts and various other injuries caused by the earlier explosions.

Atticus continued to scan the area, his senses on high alert for any movement that isn't his own.

Isabel ran outside, glaring at Atticus. "Don't me such a prick!" she said, picking Emerick up. She looked him in the eyes. "I have to tell you... there's a cure for vampirism. I used to be one myself, but no longer."

Zephyr's eyes snapped open as he heard Atticus utter the name of Kitane's brother. "Oh shite..." Getting up, he gently checked on Kitane. "Kitane, wake up," he said, shaking her gently. He turned to Jeff. "Jeff, go out there and help."

"Can do," Jeff said, drawing out a pair of long kitchen knives and heading for the door.

Kitane mumbles something but only puts her head farther under the jacket. Emerick laughs silently to himself and walks through the house and to the kitchen after gently getting out of Isabel's grasp. He was still a gentle man, so he did have a good side that was often hidden.

(How can he do that while Isabel's holding him and telling him that she knows a cure?)
(Sorry. It was a typo, Isabel picked up EMERICK, not Atticus.)

Isabel followed Atticus. "I'm not lying. I truly was a vampire once." She looked at him. "Please... believe me."

Jeff glanced around as he stood next to Atticus. "Hey, you didn't have to be so tough on that jerk," he said. "You just kinda acted like a d..." Suddenly, he glanced into the trees. "Something's coming..."

Zephyr shook her harder. "Kitane, c'mon!" he said. "Wake up!"

[Kitane Blackfyre]

Emerick shakes his head. "Not a cure for something like her." He grunts. Kitane's ears twitch, but she doesn't move. After a few moments, she raises up, a yawn parting her jaws and she looks to Zephyr. "What's all the racket?" She says groggily, rubbing her eyes. She stretches and slips her arms into Atticus' jacket and standing. "Something going on that I don't know about?" She mumbles, blinking several times and popping her back and neck.

Zephyr looked from side to side. "Um... yes," he said, placing a hand on his chin. "You see... um... let's see, how can I put this delicately..." He looked right at her. "Your dead brother's coming to kill you."

[Kitane Blackfyre]

A low hiss erupts from her and she narrows her eyes. "Is this some sort of sick joke?" She growls. "Aerrow's been dead for years." She hisses. Crossing her arms, Her pupils narrow dangerously, and a hiss rumbles from deep within her chest. Taking a step forward, her tails lash to the left and she bares her fangs. "If this is a joke, then heads are gonna roll." She growls, her left eye twitching slightly.

Zephyr looked into Kitane's eyes. "Unless there's another Aerrow you know of?" he said. "Emerick mentioned something about him... said he was working for your dad. And he was coming to kill us all."

[Kitane Blackfyre]

"We'll have to see about it when/if they get here." She hisses, walking outside to the front of the house. She inhales, lettin her breath out slowly. Concentrating in the area around the house, she could sense something dark and familiar headed this way. They had a few days to prepare, at the most. At the least they have a day or less. She shakes her head and draws her sword, slicing a bullet in half. She charges towards the tree line, turning on the gears in her blade. Within seconds, she has the gunner pinned to one of the trees, the whirring gears dangerously close to him.

Zephyr ran up behind her. "Who is it?" he asked. "Anyone you know?"

[Kitane Blackfyre]

"No." She growls, turning the gears off in her sword. "If it was Aerrow, then you'd know."

[Cifero Windtail]

Zephyr nodded. "I suppose he's very dangerous?" he asked. "Has a dark presence following him? Emits a dark aura?"
