The Forgotten

OOC// Okay, this is my first roleplay on this forum, so I hope it goes well. *crosses fingers* I noticed that they all tend to have furries, not actual animals...I'm not quite used to that. o.o I'll adapt in time, but for this roleplay, I'd be very happy if the characters could be actual wolves, actual mountain lions, actual whatevers..not ones that walk on two legs and resemble humans. Please bear with me, I thank you very very much for trying this for me. And instead of posting a list of character details, we should try writing them in our posts...it makes the story flow a bit smoother, I think.

Setting: A forest (I'll go into more detail in my intro)
Rules: Keep IC and OOC seperate, no invincible creatures, be nice occ, and thats about it. have fun! ^^

IC:

Long ago, before the English invaded the Americas, nature and humanity were one. They were not two seperate things, and species coexisted without much trouble. Those were the days before people forgot that they, like the animals, were creatures that came from the earth and needed the earth to survive. It was then, when the only humans were small villages of Native Americans, that the animals thrived in the forests without a major threat from man.

Deep in the unsettled country that is now known as the USA, a lone wolf pup roamed the lands. At the young age of two months, it was a struggle to survive. With a pelt of reddish-brown and black colors, she was an attractive young wolf, but unfortunately it meant she was easily spotted by larger creatures that might see her only as a snack.

For all of two days, she stayed in the den waiting for her mother to return with food. The third afternoon, she set out to find her mom, only to have a large eagle swoop out of the sky toward her a few yards from the den. Running to the safety of a bush, she waited until the bird was gone and made a dash for the den where she would stay safe until nightfall. As the moon rose, the youngster set out again in search of her mother.

Half the night had gone past, and she was becoming weary just as a familliar, but horrifying scent reached her nose. It was her mother's smell, but she was bleeding! Scampering across the forest floor, she followed the scent path the best she could until she reached the spot where her mother lay. Wimpering and nudging the corpse hopefully, she soon lay beside it to rest. The large she-wolf never rose to comfort her daughter, never opened an eye. The pup was alone. Unprotected, afraid, and miserably alone.
I cry out and seek advice from the ones I love.

Though there are few, they truly are gifts from above.

They share my pain and sorrow,

And I know they'll still love me tomorrow.

By blood they are not related to me,

Yet my true family they are indeed.

Nyx slinked quietly through the tall grasses. She blended in perfectly with the night because of her dark coloring. She'd have looked like a regular panther if she hadn't had two purple and black striped horns protruding from above her eyes, dragon wings, hard violet hard-plated scales running down her underbelly, and what looked like an asian lung's tail. Unlike most panthers, her paws were also violet to match her underbelly. The cagon's ears perked at the sound of some whimpering. It sounded lonesome and mournful. Careful not to be seen nor heard, she crept closer to the origin of the cries. When she finally approached the culprit, Nyx realized that the reddish wolf was just a pup. Eyeing the body of the larger female, she assumed it was the mother. The cagon recoiled into the grass, but stayed out just enough to keep an eye on the pup.

((OOC: I couldn't resist tucking a picture of my character away in there somewhere as clickable words... But the picture is anthro. Picture that animal as feral. It's a hint, I guess for the furs out there who aren't good at visualizing. ))

IC: I land softly and silently onto the ground after the jump. i see the wings trailing through the grass so i follow. it was very hard to find me at night, because i was the leopard gone wrong. i was a black leopard. even though it comes in handy, the ridicule and slander i couldn't take, so i decided to follow the cagon. the only odd thing about me was this white symbol that had been on me scince about 15 seconds after i was born. well, i heard whimpering, and i watched as the cagon stopped. i kept going to see what all the commotion was, not knowing if the cagon was guarding it, or waiting for prey.
forgotten forever,
I live alone.

After a few moments, her small nose picked up various scents from strange animals she did not know. Shaking slightly, she huddled closer to her mother for protection even though the wolfess wouldn't be able to provide any. Golden oculars peered into the dark night, but she was unable to see anything. Akira now lay silently, hoping her wimpers hadn't attracted anything bad.

OOC// Lovely picture, Nyx. ^^ I wish i could draw like that.

ic: Roaming around the Native American camp (The Iraquoi, as they called themselves), a brave grey and black wolf quietly roamed around looking for food.

((OOC: Thanks. xD ))

The pup laid down and seemed to try and hide behind the corpse. It was obvious to Nyx that the creature must have no one else or she would've moved on by now. Her icy purple eyes peered out from behind the grass as the cagon heavily debated on stepping in on the situation, for she could sense others about the place. Whether the creatures that were roaming were friend or foe remained a mystery to her. Finally deciding it would be best for the pup, she stepped out of the grass and revealed her presence to the small wolf. Nyx sat beside the pup and curled her tail around her to try and serve as comfort and reassurance that she was not a predator.

seeing the Cagon curl her tail around the young pup made me realize that she was trying to be motherly. i turn my appearance white and step out of my sanctuary of grass. i eye the Cagon's teeth and sharp claws warily, hoping that she wouldnt strike so i could investigate the body.

OOC: yes my furry can change colors at will, but if nyx can be part dragon, i should be able to do something cool too XD lol but yeah if you dont want me to drop me a PM ill change it

The wolf, with the black and red eyes, takes a piece of meat that was mistakenly kept out in the open. He takes it to his little spot in the woods were he lives. He starts knawing at the tough deer meat that the Natives, the humans, killed.

Out of the corner of her eye, Nyx caught a glimpse of a shadow. Whatever it was came out of the grass....
Instantly, the cagon stood on all fours and spread her wings until the tips touched together to make herself look bigger than what she was. The fur along her spine bristled as she let a low growl escape her throat, never letting her tail move from the pup. She was prepared to fight if this leopard planned on having wolf for supper.

((OOC: Nah, I saw Lynxfox101's char. Leopards bark?  ???))

The cagon remained tense and ready to fight, not responding to the leopard's words. Nyx knew of many creatures who would try to trick her. Her purple eyes seemed to radiate their own pale glow as she kept her eyes fixed on the leopard.

Please bear with me,

is that a pun? :P

It wasn't meant to be...but I guess it is one, huh? lol
And lynxfox101, it's fine ^^ I dont mind odd characteristics/abilities.

IC: The pup flattened herself against the groud, looking up at the cagon fearfully. As the larger creature curled her tail around her protectively, Akira curled up beside it. "Who are you?" She asked curiously, calming a bit at the sense of safety she got from her. Then, a leopard appeared from the grass and the wolf's attention was diverted to her.
