The scariest thing you can think of on the dot

The scariest thing I can think of? Could name a fear, a movie, an animal or a person. But I'll name a game, World of Warcraft. It's scary because you can quit it anytime, but it will never quit you once you've played it. I started it in 2005, it's been 8 years and it's still dragging me back inside.

It's like a person who wants to keep you in a house, but allows you to leave whenever you wish. However it's as if you never thought the door existed and once you find it and leave running out that door, everything's alright. Well, until you wonder what that person is up to, if they've changed, maybe you've changed with them or want to start your faux relationship anew. So you go to their house, open their door, step inside and the cycle begins again.

It's a freakin' horror movie that plays every day, all day (except most Tuesdays), but only for a few hours. <drinks coffee from her Ironforge mug> It's scary to think. <looks down> GAH! It's in my room... <runs screaming>.

When my brother is absent from school and no one tells me, I'll wake up and get halfway through my day without knowing he is home with me, then suddenly I'll hear footsteps and doors opening. First I'll be thinking its my imagination, then when i actually see him I die. Instantly.

He always wonders what the problem is.

I have a similarly jarring experience when I find out my dad is home when I think he's away.

But the scariest thing I can think of on the dot... opening my locker to get my stuff before leaving work to find that the manga I brought to read on break—that my best friend checked out for me at the library—is gone.
