How does this sound for an RP?

Here's an idea for an RP that is mostly on the verge of becoming a story if it doesn't kick off well.


The RP takes place in an alternate-history Earth, a world where Pangea (the super continent) never split off and dinosaurs reigned as the top creatures for millions of years. Fast forward to the year 3025 where the world has been divided between two separate powers in it's wake:


Pangean Democratic Republic (PDR)
The democratic government controlling the southern and western regions of Pangea, several cities are set up across it's lands along with it's constant ideals to keep their environment clean and pollution free. It's citizens live in a free environment in which they are able to choose their own jobs and roles in society, your basic society running on a policy of democracy I suppose.


Rekzor's Empire (RE)
This is the warring side to the PDR, an empire run by the cruel Burrunjor Emperor Rekzor Talus, the empire was established several thousands of years ago by the Talus family who felt themselves having no place in the PDR (feeling as if their territory wasn't being run correctly by the people in power). The entire difference between the two sides is that Rekzor's Empire concentrate more on mechanical and technological enhancements to society saying that, "The body can be perfected no matter what" along with his lands having a more industrial look to them due to factories churning out new weapons/vehicles/etc. for the military in their constant struggle against the PDR. The citizens of this Empire are practically brainwashed into seeing Rekzor as an almighty figure who's decisions are for the good of the people no matter what they are, this state of mind means they would be willing to put their lives on the line for their great Emperor if needed (an army with such dedication to their country is a dangerous one in combat)


Another additional note about the two sides is how their troops are equipped for combat. PDR troops are given mandatory enhancement drugs upon joining (something that gives them a muscular build, more stamina, etc.) mostly to better increase their chances against the forces they fight against. Rekzor's military are more about technological augmentations to the body with troops usually getting cerebral updates (their vision becomes a HUD, resistance to flashbangs, filters placed in their lungs making them immune to lethal gases and such). Combat drones also have a center place in the armed forces usually controlled by designated 'Hackers' (in this world knowledge of technology can be a very big deciding factor, Hackers are units in both militaries that go into combat to provide support roles for troops either through controlling Drones, keeping a clear line to command and other ways to be revealed later) with both sides' drones differing in control and size.


I'm getting off topic here, down to the plot of the RP.


The RP takes place in a designated DMZ between the PDR and RE, the DMZ is a large city given the name "Sandtrap City" by locals due to it's location in the desert. The city was placed as a DMZ but to failed attempts from both sides to hold it against one another, constant sandstorms and it's size make it difficult to holdout in so it's left as an independent power between the two sides. One of Rekzor's scientists struck a deal with the PDR, he would give them information on experiments and projects in the Empire in exchange for a new life in their territory. The agreement was made and he managed to escape the Empire making his way to the DMZ, the PDR (not wanting to violate the DMZ with their own military) hires mercenaries to go in and extract the scientist to their border. This won't be an easy assignment as Rekzor has gotten word of the recent defection and sent a group of special forces (disguised as locals) into the city to find and eliminate the scientist.

The story seems very solid and I would love to join in your RP.
A few questions tho.
Are you going to have specific landscape or city's designated by a map?
What races are there or is that open for debate?
Sense the land is a super continent, and there is ALLOT of water. Are there going to be any locations of interest out in the "super sea"?

And to answer the question above, the specific landscape of the city is more of a ruined type of deal (sandstorms and mass evacuation efforts didn't go well so the only inhabitants mostly are the riff-raff and such) but the landscape will start opening up more as they make their way out of the city.


The only races in this RP are dinosaurs (obviously anthro ones) though the mercenaries can hail from either Rekzor's territory or the PDR depending on what character type they sound like.


I haven't thought of that yet but some ideas might come through for that

That I'm not sure of but I might consider it though! I once had the idea that sabertooths or wooly mammoths usually don't stray too far from their colder regions in the PDR

Well for the mercenaries they could hail from either the PDR or RE but the only forces in the RE military that get the real good tech are special forces (getting things like robotic limbs to increase mobility, integrated stealth fields in their skin) but once a special forces in the RE it's rare to see them quit it. The characters in this RP aren't representing each side but simply themselves as they strive to get this contact out of the city and receive their pay for this job.


Also I'm expecting some paragraph responses for this RP when I start it so I hope you guys can cope with that

Looks like there's enough people to get this RP going so I'll post up the intro to the serious RP forum soon. Here are the rules:


RULES
1. No power-playing
I think is a basic rule that we all should know, I don't want to hear anything about a character doing 100 things or having all these special attributes to them. I don't want to see them taking out 100 people with a single bullet or things like that, try to keep it on a down-low if you can


2. Not too many characters
The mercenary group that goes in starts out small to say the least so lets try to keep it in low numbers, I'll be controlling three characters (two mercenaries and the scientist they're supposed to protect) while everyone else keep the count at around 1 or 2 at this time.


3. Long responses please
I will admit I'm kinda a lengthy person so I don't really like it when I put up a paragraph response and someone else puts up only a sentence to keep it going. Four lines or more at minimum if you can

Fighting Style(s)-At long distances she would use her rifle, NEVER missing. At unexpected close rage combat she will use the construct blades that form from projectors at the butt of the gun and right under the barrel. The construct blades themselves also have an electric effect but zaps the weapons rechargeable power cells fast. At expected close range combat she uses her energy sword and dagger.

Backround story-As a girl she lived in a trading caravan that sailed the sea(s) trading the towns and city's on the coasts. At the age of 7 her caravan was attacked separating her from her parents. She was taken by the attackers who turned out to be slavers and sold her to a plantation owner in the Rekzor's Empire. After two years of abuse and hard labor she revolted killing her owner in his sleep with the same dagger she has today. When she went on the run she meet an amature thief who took her in and taught her all he knew. But she excelled at the trade, and soon started to take up bigger jobs of assassinations. Now she is living in Sandtrap City as a professional hired assassin. She never takes up contracts upfront but has a basket behind the GoldDuck tavern where people would drop gold and the name of the target.

Oh I knew I forgot to clarify that the weapons in the RP are all lead-based projectiles, sorry about that small mis-information there but you can change it up. There aren't really any energy weapons in Pangea

Hmm...
Make it a 9 MM silenced pistol then.
 
The rifle an L115a3 custom made with a counterweight in the stock for standing shooting. A kickout blade in the stock with a long dagger like bayonet.
 
The sword is in the style of the samurai sword made from tempered intermediate alloy.(Freaking strong and sharp as HELL... And very light)
 
The dagger is an old standard combat survivalist knife from the slave owner she killed.
 
By the way, Make sure to creat an OOC for the RP.
